CRISPY ONION RINGS

3 large onions, peeled and sliced ¼ inch thick 
1 cup flour 
1/2 teaspoon salt 
1 teaspoon baking powder 
1 cup milk 
1 slightly beaten egg 

Place onions in ice water for 2 hours. Drain and dry thoroughly on paper towels. 
Mix flour, salt, baking powder, milk and eggs in a large mixing bowl.
Dip onions in batter. 
Fry in deep fat fryer set at 370 degrees until golden brown. 
Drain on paper towels.
