Hello... I need to get up to speed as to where you all fit in which Lee line. We have several Lee lines working in my files and I have received a copy of Ann (Austin's) book. It is most impressive. We are a gang of Lee cousins descended from Samuel Lee who migrated to the MS Terr. in Nov 1810. Samuel and wife, Susannah had a son named William SC Lee and a daughter named Elizabeth who married John Lott. Samuel lived his remaining days in Marion Co., MS where he died in 1831. Susannah Lee died in 1850 and is included in the Mortality Schedule stating she died of old age (80). My maternal grandmother was named Beatrice Viola Taylor and was born in Eastabuchie in extreme southern Jones Co., MS. Her parents were James N Taylor(1880-1929) and Verona Shoe-
make(1887-1920). James' parents were second cousins Alonzo Ferdinand Taylor and Sarah Ann
Taylor, all natives of Wayne County, MS and points east in AL. Not sure where in AL they were from but it was probably in the migration pattern of central and southern portions of the state. Would like to explore these projects as well as the Greenberry Lee line.
Ann's ancestor, Nathaniel Lee was supposedly the son of Thomas Solomon Lee, a name similar to my ancestor William Solomon Collum Lee. WSC's father, Samuel applied for passage through the Creek Indian Nation in Nov 1810 (Dorothy Potter's Passports of SoutheasternPioneers pg 271) with his wife, two children and five slaves. Check back when you have some time. JML----------
