Note to Lee Researchers: In early N.C. the widow or wife of a Stroud has for a son Joshua Stroud. Later the Stroud family is intermixed with Lee family in S.C. deeds

Can anyone shed more light on the distinction between the PA Strouds and the NC/VA Strouds.. Family members from the PA Strouds (James & John), to name two, traveled to VA and may have been the start of the Strouds in VA/NC??? However, I have info that another John Stroud, not connected to the PA Strouds; a John Stroud who is reported to be the first immigrant ancestor of the (VA/Nc Strouds) to arrive in US, 6-3-1663 at James City, VA. listed as a Headright by George Gilbert and Richard Scrudy, who received 1000 acres for transferring Twenty people to VA. No ship has been identified. Nor has a Port of departure been found for this John Stroud, who married Hannah and had five children: Joseph (1692-?), William (c1700-1793), John(c1703-?), Joshua(c1704-?) & Thomas(c1705-1739).. Will share data!!!
