A few things that have helped me to build a firm and solid foundation are faith and belief in something bigger than myself. Belief that there is a higher power that governs all things. Belief that this higher power is truly the father of my spirit, the God of Heaven and Earth. Belief that he has a plan for me. That I have a purpose. That there is meaning to life, a reason for being.. Belief in His son Jesus Christ. That He is our Savior and Redeemer. Belief that He came to this earth to atone for all mankind. The mortar that holds my foundation together and causes it to be firm and steadfast is my faith and belief in God and in His son Jesus Christ. It is knowing that if I follow their commandments my foundation will not be washed away from the stormy tempests that come with life.
Another thing that helps to fortify my foundation is my family. Knowing that we can be together for ever, that the family goes beyond this earth life. That death does not separate us from our loved ones. That we will continue in our family unit for time and all eternity.
Pondering and reading the scriptures as well as daily prayer fortify my foundation. The words of our Father and Savior that have been preserved for us are the very cornerstone of my foundation for they teach me of our Heavenly Father and Savior, of my purpose. They fill my heart with peace and the warmth of a fathers embrace. I know that I'm not alone. |
