P.X. RUSTY EGAN & STEVE STRANGE  -  1978

In many respects PX,  became the house designer for the New Romantic scene.  Having cut their teeth selling their designs from a market stall, Helen and Steph opened the first PX shop in James Street off Covent Garden in september 1978,  using old disused fittings from MI5´s  Cruzon Street offices.  By the time we opened at Billy´s they had a good line in German military gear,  making their own idiosyncratic versions complet with diamante when they couldn´t get hold of the originals.  When we started Blitz I wore their frilly velvet suits with a stark white puritan collar,  despite the fact that most of these were sold to woman.
