Have you ever longed for a place of worship that was pure, real, without pretense, a place that wasn't trying to hook you in with the Madison Avenue marketing approach or by tickling your ears? They are fast becoming a rare commodity but I have some good news, there's at least one left, Oak Hill Chapel. I refer to Oak Hill Chapel as a "remnant church". I say that because it reminds me of the references in the Old Testament of the faithful remnant. We have three pastors at Oak Hill Chapel even though we have a relatively small congregation. These good men are all committed to teach and model what the Bible instructs, and do it to the best of their ability. That is our strength. That is why our God faithfully blankets us in His Holy presence. It's easy to praise and worship Him with no distraction because we don't have to be concerned with the fruit of rebellion. We hold up God's standard of perfection and fall on His grace when we fall short of it. The majority of preaching and discipling is done by Teddie Renollet. He has wisdom, abilities, and a passion for spiritual things that can only come directly from God. I fancy myself an advanced Bible student but I find myself leaning in, listening with intense concentration and coming to a more complete understanding than I ever thought possible. I pray he lives another 60 years so I can absorb as much as possible before the mantle passes on to the next generation. The leadership and the flock at Oak Hill Chapel have been such a source of encouragement to my immediate family and myself. What precious, precious, servants!
