A little baby cat, all alone in a ditch, near a field, out in the country. Covered in fleas, hungry and with an injured tail.. Wait! What was that? Some bicyclists ride by on a Sunday afternoon. Maybe if I squeek REALLY LOUD, they will hear me! They DID! Yay! Now I am in a cardboard box, with a towel. A nice man is taking me to someone who may know what to do. Gee, I am still so hungry! Oh, here is lady with some KMR (kitten milk replacement). Yum! Of *course* I can lap it out of a bowl, I am not an infant, you know. I am about 6 weeks old !! I am big enough to eat some kitten kibble, now! |

Little Zoomy came to us on Sunday evening Aug 13th, 2000. He had been dumped in a ditch. We must have combed 150 fleas off his small body. He was a mess, with scabby toes (his vet said was malnutrition), and a tail that was one big scab at the end from some sort of damage. The end of his tail (a little more than an inch) fell off. The tissue had died. He didn't seem to notice! We called him Zoom because I had just ordered "The Zoom Trilogy" by Tim Wynne-Jones which had been out of print, but was re-published in 1997. It came to us right about the time that this baby white cat did. This new baby reminded me of the cat in the book, Zoom! Also, as with any kitten, he sure zooms around a lot! What a dolly-baby. He is fierce, and loving, and spunky and just a joy. I was sure that I would have to find him a good home, after shots and neutering...but we will have to see. Maybe the other cats would like a kitten of their own. We may have to play it by ear. (big grin) |

Me and my "Zoom-ba-layah Jumble Tumble, HEY! you wanna Rumble?" Cat. A very fierce boy, at times, he loves to snuggle, too. PERFECT! |

Gretl just LOVES little Zoomy, as you can see in this photo, where they are curled up together and she is licking his sweet little head. Oh! ... ahem, well, we may have to wait a bit for *that* photo. I hope she decides to like him. She seems to think we invited one of Olney's White Squirrels into the house, and boy is she peeved! |
