• Be sure that your audience understands your topic. You may want to explain, teach, sell, persuade, or something else.
• Convince the audience that you have the professional expertise to lecture on the topic
  • Explain why you have been asked to give the presentation
  • Explain who asked you to give the talk
  • Give them reasons to have confidence in you
  • Be sure that you are believable. Speak with conviction
• Use eye contact.
• Vary your tone. If you speak in a monotone, then you’ll lose the audience.
• Vary your location. A cordless microphone and laser pointer will helps.
• Use body language, including gestures and other movements
• Vary your volume and speed as needed.
• Keep your presentation as short as possible
  • They should never be more than 15-20 minutes
  • Presentations are too powerful to accept for a serious length of time

The most powerful presentation was made (without a computer) at Mount Sinai. It was too much for the audience to accept, so they asked for Moshe to speak as an intermediary.

Your presentation will be far less powerful, and your topic will not be as meaningful. However, you should still remember the audience's limitations. Don't overdo it.
