The Hebrew-English version of the Excel spreadsheet can be used to teach religiously-observant Jewish students.
The spreadsheet may be displayed from right to left by default. A Hebrew-English triangular directional icon will reverse the direction. If you don't see it, then split the top row into two at the column of dashes.
The name of the program is Ex-Cel for Excellent Cell. Each "box" in the spreadsheet is called a cell. A line of cells going across is called a row; a vertical line of cells is a column.
You can rename an entire sheet by right clicking and clicking Rename, but you cannot rename columns or rows.

Then make a column on the left or right sides with the students' names:

At the bottom of each column, list the averages. Under the students' names, write Average.
Click the cell outside of table – where would you like the calculation to appear? Could be on any available cell, or any wade sheet page. Contrast with Word – it can only appear on bottom or side of that column.
Adding any two cells =SUM(A4+B3). The format is always ColumnNumber.
Sum of a row – D3:D19 calculates everything in between.
Drag (you can’t do it in Word) by the little square in the lower right corner in order to create a series of Sum formulas across the row.
In order to view the average of all of Reuven’s Chumash grades on Sheet2, use the formula =average(sheet1!D7:D10,sheet1!F7:F10,Sheet1!H7:F10). Notice the use of the exclamation point to indicate the name of the page, and the use of the comma to separate formulas.
In order to view the average of all of the Chumash grades on Sheet2, use the formula =AVERAGE(sheet1!D11,Sheet1!F11,Sheet1!H11)
Double-click at the top of a column, where the cross appears, in order to resize a column.
Copy and paste: Select the first cell, but NOT at the corner; don’t let go, drag the center of cell down and across. Click on Edit, Copy. Paste the data to Word; and then to PPT. Change the size of the target application numbers with Control ^].
To format a cell. Click on Cell alignment/orientation to give angled letters for the title. Click on Cell, font to create color, size. Click on Cell number/ currency to give a dollar or shekel sign, and only 2 decimal (cents) places.
Format painter: Good for creating alternating rows, with different colors.
Don’t Sort in Word without Selecting All. In this way it is different from Access.
You know how to create a Header Row Repeat in a Word table. The equivalent in Excel is freezing panes, with rows and columns.
This feature keeps the labels visible as you scroll.
You can Freeze the top horizontal pane, and select the row beneath the place where you want the split to appear.
You can Freeze the left vertical pane, and select the column to the right of the place where you want the split to appear.
You can Freeze both the upper and the left panes. Just click the cell beneath and to the right of the place where you want the split to appear.
In each of these cases, the second step is to click Window, Freeze Panes.
You can make automatic lists. Demonstrate days, months. Make your own with Tools/Options/Custom Lists. Then click Save.
Try to following exercises: Test the grades in the spreadsheet. Calculate the average per test. Calculate the average per student.
Make a graph of all of the students who are taking a particular test. Hold down the button in order to show samples until you find the one you like; then click Finish to insert the graph.
Add Wordart from the Drawing toolbar – same way as in Word.
Of course, you can also use Windows Tools/Accessories/Calculator as a replacement for Excelfor minor calculation.
After learning Word, Powerpoint, and Excel, you can now use any Windows product. The menu is basically the same. Demonstrate.
After creating class averages, you can group all of the çåîù grades so that you can plan how to make homogeneous groups only for çåîù.
Sheet 2 can introduce the aAverages from Sheet 1.

Yehuda
At the bottom, list the averages: Average Average Average
Use formula =average(Sheet1!D6:Sheet1:D9)
You can now divide the class into homogeneous groups.
