אין לך דבר Physical placement on the shelf was flexible, in order to allow for re-shelving of books in different locations. Books which are used intensively at the present time might be used less frequently in the future, so it was important to be able to keep current books which were used frequently on a relatively low shelf, while moving less-frequently used books to a higher shelf.
I attached a tape with the shelf number on each book, with the bottom of the tape starting exactly 1” from the bottom of the spine so that the living room would remain esthetically tolerable and assigned each book a shelf number. The basic bibliographical data was entered in Hebrew and in English by all members of the family, including the first-grader.
