There may well be justification to the other method of allowing children to develop at their own rate. It is not always necessary for them to be pushed to mature early, or to be given experiences that may encourage development.

A child is young only once. The child should be able to develop gradually, instead of being pushed to develop before it is necessary.

Picture a little child who does silly things. Isn't that to be expected of him? He's acting like a child.

Why stop him? Why keep that child from acting his age? Let the child experience infant things, baby things, toddler things, and young child things. Let the child grow up slowly.

Perhaps if the child has time to establish a firm footing at each stage of his development, the end results will be more secure, well founded and controlled.

Perhaps the way and the pace that children were originally intended to develop has advantages over the current situation.

Perhaps today's children are just growing up too quickly.
