Hate
Change

What can be done to change or reverse people's hate?

It depends.

However, the perpetrator of hate can stand up at any time and say, "I want to change my behavior."

A psychologist may be able to help people decide to terminate their hate. Again, however, the person who hates always has the final word.

On the other hand, the victim of hate is quite limited.

Time is a factor

The longer that the perpetrator exhibits feelings of hate, the harder it will be in the future to make that change.

How does this reversed feeling of hate start out?

It could be a childhood experiment: let’s see what happens if I try to show everybody or try to make believe that I hate member X of my family. Let’s see what happens.

It could be with the support colleagues or peers. You really don't like this member of the family, do you? Girls are especially vulnerable to this type of action and talk. They frequently are influenced by classmates or peers who try to tell them whom they should like and whom they should hate. Boys do exhibit this situation on occasion but not as frequently as girls.

Other children or even adults with developmental difficulties or challenges may also exhibit this method of action. After all, at a young age a child might be told who to like and who to dislike but as the child grows older she should be able to control her own feelings or emotions and make decisions. If she does not do this then this could very clearly represent a developmental delay or challenge.

Paradoxically, the fact is that other people support her.

Thus, what started out as a development delay could ultimately result in a extended development problem which may not go away because the person has to permanently accept and live up to the expectations of society.
