Damage control

Sometimes the control over problems really is out of your hands. Somebody else may have wrested it from you, and they are now in control of your interests. At this point, some well-wishers may want to help you deal with the situation.

Once something important is removed from your control, you usually do not want to have still others working on it. That could create a situation in which things would be even more out of control.

If you are confident that this is a situation that you would handle better, then don't bewail the issue. Instead, it may be better to gracefully thank others for their efforts, and accept the need to handle it yourself. You can then to take over the process.

Moping, sulking, vowing to get back at the perpetrators, or other such actions may prove to be less desirable than positive action.
