Forgetter or forget her?

This page is still under contruction

Many people forget things and they chalk it up to their being forgetful by nature. They forget appointments or they come late after they finally think of them. They forget jobs that they're supposed to do or assignments or chores. They forget unpleasant things that they don't want to do. They only remember things that they want to do and sometimes they even forget those.

They are forgetters and they like to build a security blanket and a security base of forgetfulness around them. They want to be known as forgetters. They want people to think of them as forgetters because this offers them the opportunity to avoid doing work or getting involved in things. People will shy away from a forgetter. They will go on to other things rather than being involved with a forgetter.

Thus, by spreading the word that a person is a forgetter people might leave him alone and he might not be asked to do serious or important things which would be able to help him advance in his life.

Actually, this person is begging for people to put their foot down and to tell him what to do. He wants to be able to make something of his life and he wants other people to give him that push in order to do it. That is why he is demonstrating that he is forgetful about everything except for the things that are of importance or of interest to him. He doesn't want those things to take place so he acts as if he is forgetful.

A forgetful person of this nature should be tested in order to find out if there is indeed a basis for his forgetfulness. In some cases there might be. More often the person is making believe that he is forgetful and he could be able to achieve a lot more.

That person can be changed or trained so that he is able to forget fewer things and in that way he can be turned around and become a worthwhile citizen and a part of society.

The main and most important therapy in this case is to train the person that he is really not a forgetter although that is what he calls himself.
