Somebody who comes from a different region - a different part of town or a different part of the world - is a tourist.

Tourists view people in one of two ways:

• They may be silent and afraid to open their mouth.
  • They don't know how to act in new, different, or strange circumstances
  • They observe what others do
  • After a while they may gain enough confidence to be part of the action
• They may act in the opposite manner
  • They may ignore all of those who surround them
  • They may be noisy and attract a great deal of attention
  • They don't know or don't care about that attention
  • They view people who speak a different tongue as non-persons. They do not exist, as far as he's concerned
  • He will either act the way he does back home, or in forbidden ways - as he was never permitted to do back home

Thus, the tourist is a study of opposites.
