Take some old 35mm film negatives in strips of 4 to 6 frames, put them into a bowl of neat bleach and let them sit for 3 minutes or until clear.   Dry them on kitchen roll or old tea towel.

When the are ready you need two strips to put together to make 2 layers.  Into the middle you can put whatever you like. small leafs, flowers, small pictures.  Anything you like really.

Then when you are happy you take some wool and sew up the sides using the holes already there, leaving an end to tie when you come down the other side.

Then take some more wool and make a tassel.

Bookmark made!

Good for guides or brownies, as well as photography, nature or recycling themes!  Could also help them learn the basic principle of sewing.

Thanks to June of 1st Castle Guides for this craft!
