Crows, cranes and crumbs
Pairs of guides lie down with feet together and 2 different objects on either side of the feet, eg. a shoe and a necky. The shoe is the crow, the necky is the crane, and crumbs means both.  Guider calls cr.............ows and the first guide to sit up and grab the item named crow wins a point for her side. Next one is cr.......umbs and the first guide to grab both wins the points for
her side.

Video Game
The leader shouts out an action (be a cat) followed by either play, fast forward or reverse. The girls then do the action in the appropriate way.  The leader then calls out a different video control word (any of the 3 above or), pause (stand still), or eject (sit on the floor).  Continue playing for as long as you want with the action changed occasionally.  We don't tend to have people out, but you can have the last one to eject or people who move while paused.  It is very noisy and can last for as long as you want.

Vegetable Soup
The girls stand at each end of the hall, with leaders or 'taggers' in the middle. The girls choose for themselves a type of vegetable, and when they have all chosen, the leader calls out a type of vegetable. If that is the vegetable they have chosen they run from one end to the other and the leader or 'tagger' tries to tag them. If the get tagged, they become taggers as well. If you want all the girls to run at the same time, you call Vegetable Soup. Gradually, only one or two girls are left and it is fun to gang up on that one child! She can't escape with so many after her. It is fun call out unusual vegetables like rutabaga. Also maybe encourage the girls not to choose all the same vegetable (all my girls last night were celery). I can see the older girls enjoying this as well.

Mr & Mrs. Brown
You have a team of six - Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown, Betty, Bobby, the cat and the dog.  Make up a story about the family. Every time you mention the name that person runs forward and round the team back to place.  My guides love this.

Beans

Girls run round in a circle doing the actions appropriate to the last command shouted.  You can get out anybody doing the wrong action, or the last to change when you call a new one if you like.
runner beans - run quickly
French bean - can can and say ooo la la
kidney bean - curl up like a kidney on the floor
broad bean - stop and make yourself as fat as possible, or stand with legs apart & arms outstretched
jumping bean - jump up and down
chilli beans - shiver as if cold, arms round body.
jelly beans -  wobble like jelly and shake arms.
string beans - stand as tall as possible, arms above head.
baked beans - lie on the floor and "sunbathe"
has-beens - all fall on the floor.
Frozen beans - stand still - freeze!

Mosquito tag
Players number 1, 2, 1, 2, etc., and then scatter around the playing area. Each number 1 pretends she has been bitten by a mosquito on the back of the neck, which she swats with one hand and then holds that hand to her neck. Each number 2 pretends she has been bitten by a mosquito on the back of her knee, which she swats and holds on to. Players chase each other.  When a neck-bitten player is caught by a knee-bitten player, she switches from neck to knee (or vice versa). Play to exhaustion.
