Ramza is the youngest of the Beoulve brothers. He just graduated from the Gariland Officer Academy. He is the 'missing Lion War hero'.

Prince Goltana

Goltana is the younger cousin of the dead king. He is the ruler of the Zeltennia family. The Black Lion is his symbol.

Delita Hyral

Delita is the best friend of Ramza. He too is a graduate of the Gariland Officer Academy. According to the books, he is the Lion War hero who brought peace to Ivalice.

Prince Larg

Larg is the older brother of Ovelia. He is the ruler of the Gallione family. The White Lion is his symbol.

Princess Ovelia

Ovelia is the princess of Ivalice. When she was abducted, the Lion War broke out.

This is the first hard battle you will fight. The Archer on the roof can hit from long range, while the Wizards may use spells some characters may take more damage because of higher faith, and the Knight can randomly block attacks.

Tactics

Let Ramza and Algus take care of the Archer. Move Ramza and then 1 other to attack the Knight. Then concentrate on the Wizards. Make sure your Chemist has a Potion ability and a Phoenix Down ability just in case a character dies or is weakened badly.

Tactics

The battle begins with Algus in the second group and Delita in the first. Try to use each group to draw out the enemy before attacking inside.

Tactics

Attack the closest enemy first. Then attack any others who come from the side. If one of you characters get charmed, use a weak attack to make them normal again.

Tactics

Have one or two characters attack the left side while the other three make a frontal assault.

You can carefully pick off the enemies. Target Wiegraf with Charge attack, Throwing stone, magic, or physical attacks. He will warp away when he has low health.

Your divided party makes this battle hard. His Wizards will use their spells to hurt you along the way. His crossbow has the Night Killer arrow, which causes blindness.

Tactics

Have Ramza and a Wizard in the first group to attack Algus. Have the second group attack from the side or help out the first group.

Tactics

Take out the two wizards. The battle is easy because Gafgarion and Agrias uses their sword attacks to weaken enemies. Then you can finish them off.

There are two Summoners on each side and the Knights and Archers are on the hill. The Summoners have a long range for their call spells.

Tactics

Take out the Summoners and then you will have enough Hp to finish off the incoming enemy. Two or one Chocobos should be helpful as well.

Do not stop in the water or you will get poisoned. Every enemy is not living except for the Flotiball and Morbol. They may reanimate if you do not finish the battle quickly.

Tactics

You can do different things to hurt the undead. You can cast a healing (Cure type) spell right next to the enemy, use Musatadio's Seal Evil to paralyze, and counter attacks from Chocobos are helpful. Standard attacks work well too.

Have Ramza use Weapon Break or activate the switch to open the gates. This will make the battle easier. Agrias and Mustadio double team can take out the Summoners while the other characters can take out the Knights and Archers.

Get past the Monks and the Knights and attack Zalmo. Do not worry if Alma dies after casting the Mbarrier. Zalmo will then teleport when he has low health.

Becareful of the Lancer's jump since it can be very damaging and the Time Mages will do the usual Haste, Stop, etc.

Tactics

You can move of the Lancer's landing zone of two squares of his position. Take out the Lancers and the Chemist so they can not heal. Mustadio's Leg and Arm Aim and Knight's Speed Break should be useful attacking the Time Mages.

Izlude has the Jump for long range attack and Maintinence to protect from break abilities. Archers and Summoners can attack from long range too. The Knights may trap a character in a corner due to difficult movement in the maze.

Tactics

Jump ability and any range movements help in here. Use the Chocobos to move farther to attack and counter attack. You can take out any long-range enemies before the short range ones or take on Izlude.

Goal

Defeat of Izlude.

Units clumped together will all be damaged by the Wizard and Wiegraf may stun with the Stasis Sword attack.

Tactics

This will be a two-room battle. You can have a character stand in the entrance to fight off enemies one by one. The other characters should target Wiegraf. Agrias' and Mustadio's stun attacks can help so you can. Wiegraf will teleport like Izlude when he is low in health.

Tactics

Attack the undead enemies so you can concentrate on the ghost enemies.

This is part is very hard. Wiegraf can do plenty of damage during the battle with Ramza. He may use sword attacks which changes your status.

Tactics 1

Use Chemist's Auto Potion for automatic healing when fighting and the Ninja class allows double weapons for more damage

This part is harder than the lone battle with Wiegraf. The Archaic Demon will use damaging spells while Velius may petrify a character. Also, he may move to a ledge out of range.

Tactics

To make the battle a lot easier, use long-range attacks, concentrate on Velius with high strength characters, and maybe a Chocobo or two.

Roof of Riovanes Castle

Cecilia the Assassin, Elmdor the Arc Knight, and Lede the Assassin

Goal

Save Rafa.

Difficulty Rating

Info

This battle is very difficult in several ways. One is that, a bug in the game will cause Rafa to walk close to Elmdor, in which he will attack to weaken her with his attacks and she maybe killed afterwards by Cecilia or Lede (very quick defeat). Elmdor uses strong Samurai attacks while Cecilia and Lede will use stop or death attacks.

Tactics

I discover in my new game, I won in one turn. By maneuvering the Chocobos to the front to attack Cecilia or Lede will act as a diversion. Move the other Chocobo moves in front of Elmdor. If any of the enemies have low health, the battle ends. So prepare well in advance.

This is part is very hard. Wiegraf can do plenty of damage during the battle with Ramza. He may use sword attacks which changes your status.

Tactics

The battle should not be too hard. Just take care of the Wizards and Lancers.

This is part is difficult due to the terrain layout. Both the Archers will shoot arrows and Summoners summon magic from long range.

Tactics

Use Ignore Height learned from the Lancer class to override the terrain difficulty. Chocobo's have excellent movement when it comes to higher terrain.

Enemy Party

You may get various combinations of Black Chocobos, Yellow Chocobos, Red Chocobos, and a Uribo.

Goal

Destroy the enemies.

Difficulty Rating

The Black and Red Chocobo will use such attacks like Choco Ball and Choco Meteor. The Yellow Chocobo will heal their weaken comrades quickly, thus the battle will last longer.

Tactics

Take out the Yellow Chocobos or overwhelm the other Black or Red Chocobos first. An alternative, would be to talk to them so you can get a Red or Black Chocobo to your party.

Tactics

Use Ignore Height skill for easier movement. Take out Zalmo's allies before taking him out.

Balk will first poison everyone, use snipe attacks, and his Blast Gun can use Ice attack. The Archers and Wizards will do their usual attacks to jeep your characters afar.

Tactics

Use anything to heal from the poison. Next, take out the Archers and Wizards. Then the Balk and the Knights should be no problem.

This terrain is very steep. The enemy Archers are positioned well on top.

Tactics

Attack in separate groups to draw attention or attack as one. Chocobo's of any type can climb hilly terrain effectively.

Destroy the enemies.

This battle is only hard since the enemies here will revive after the count. The Oracle and Summoners have the strong attacks here.

Tactics

You can take out the Oracle and Summoner to make the battle easier.

Location

At the Gate of Limberry Castle

4 Apandas, Celia the Assassin, and Lede the Assassin

Goal

Destroy all enemies (weaken Celia or Lede will end the battle).

Difficulty Rating

Apandas here will poison your characters. Lede and Celia can stop you with their Switch Stick to Stop a character or kill you with Switch Stick. This battle can end very quickly like at the Roof of Riovanes.

Tactics

Take away some of the Apandas. Ramza can use Ultima to weaken every enemy. Then Chocobo's of any time can rush in to weaken or eliminate the enemy.

Celia the Assassin, Lede the Assassin, and Elmdor the Arc Knight

Goal

Destroy the enemies.

This battle is very hard due to each enemy’s special attack. Lede and Celia will do their usual stop or kill a character. Elmdor can do Blood Suck to turn a character into a vampire. He's extra powerful with Genji Armor, Masamune Sword, Blade Grasp skill, and Martial Arts skill.

Tactics

Take out Celia and Lede with Ultima spell like you did before and the battle will become much easier. To heal from Elmdor's Blood Suck ability, you can have 108 Gems Armlet equipped or Holy Water readily available, or just have the vampired character keep on sucking life out of Elmdor. Also, lowering his Brave Points down to 01 will reduce his Blade Grasp attack and Speed Break skill until speed is 00 will make him wait many, many turns before he can respond.

Meliadoul will help take care of some of the enemies. Orlandu will be best in here because of his strong sword attacks.

Dycedarg will transform into Adramelk and uses status changing spells, Leviathan, and Bahamut.

Tactics

Make sure do not clump your units, but kill Adramelk fast. Orlandu will be best in here because of his strong sword attacks.

Destroy the enemies.

Rofel and Vormav have powerful attacking power with their swords as Kletian with his spells.

Tactics

Take out Kletian since he has lower Hp and defense. Then the battle will be over as all of them teleport away.

Defeat of Balk.

The enemies are quite strong. Balk and the Chemist uses strong guns to attack from the distance.

Tactics

The best way to win is to take out some of the enemies to get to Balk. If Balk moves to the front, you can easily weaken him.

Go to the bar at Goland Coal City and inquire about Ghost of Colliery".

Convince Beowulf at Lesalia Imperial Castle to join you.

At Goland Coal City again, fight 4xbattles, save Reis the Dragon, and get her to join you.

Return to Goug Machine City, so the Steel Giant will appear from the ball

Defeat the giant at Nelveska Temple for a Zodiac stone.

Bring the Zodiac stone to Goug Machine City to bring in Cloud with the time machine.

Fight the battle at Igros Castle against Dycedarg.

Then go to Zarghidas Trade City to defend Cloud from the enemies.

Locate his Materia Blade with move-Find Item at Bervenia during a fight.
