| As one crosses this particular hill headed westbound on US 280 three water towers are visible at once. Pictured, in a low res way, are two of those towers. Although Alabama does lie at the southwestern edge of the Appalachian foothills, the territory along US 280 does not look at all mountainous until one reaches Birmingham. So, points of elevation this great are prime locations for municipal water towers. |
