This city doth like a garment wear the beauty of the morning silent bare ships, towers, domes, theatres and temples lie open unto the fields and to the sky all bright and glittering in the smokeless air |

A Tribute to Venus Hum; my new favorite band Review: Big Beautiful Sky Released in 2003, their first official studio release is upbeat, electonically poppy and sits in much needed contrast to bump-and-grind electronic music. Instead of singing about how to attract a new lover on the dance floor (like most electronic music), Venus Hum celebrates the little sparks of delight in life. In Montana, the vocalist, Annette, rejoices over beautiful dandilions and big sky. The Bells gives us a look at Venus Hum's love of sound. Throughout the album the listener encounters themes of the joy of singing, the wonder of nature and the curious interaction between friends and lovers. As a huge fan of Bjork it is no wonder I love Venus Hum. Bjork is listed as one of their influences and Artists3.iuma.com even describes their song, Run Annie Run, as displaying a "Bjork-like throb." Check out some legal Christmas MP3's from their website: This is from their "Illusive and much talked about Switched on Christmas Record." It contains 6 songs. Silent Night is my personal fave:) |

1. Dido: Life for Rent 2. Michelle Tumes: Her most recent release...I don't even remember the name of it. 3. Plumb: Their latest one. The above three artists are capable of much more creative and musical work than what they put out this year. I was super disapointed with this stuff. |
