We are located in Blackfoot, Idaho, home of the Eastern Idaho State Fair, just a few miles from the beautiful Snake River.
Our herd began in 1996 with one American Nubian, 8 Recorded Grades and one American Nubian buck.
In 1997 we purchased our first purebred buck, Asteroid , from Kathi and Neil Bishop in Bend Oregon and our first Purebred Nubian doe, from Larry and Shirley Gardner, Creswell Oregon. At that time we also began DHIR, LA, and showing. We have been privleged to show our animals in Washington, Arizona, Utah, and of course our home state, Idaho.
Our herd has continued to grow and change over the past several years and now includes, two Oberhasli does, 5 LaMancha Does, and two LaMancha bucks as well as our precious Nubians.
We began CAE testing in 1998. and today our current results show 100% CAE Negative within the herd. We have continued the tradition of CAE testing annually through WSU/WADDL. We also annually test for TB and Brucellosis and have always had negative results. We have periodically tested for CL and have never had a positive result.
We vaccinate all of our animals with CD&T and worm with Ivomec twice yearly. We provide only the highest quality alfalfa, COB with Molasses, BOSS and free choice minerals including adequate amounts of selenium for our area.
All kids are bottle raised on CAE negative pasturized goats milk, started on a vaccination schedule, and given free choice hay and grain beginning at just a few days old.
