These are the corn people, They are easy to make and if you look for end of season sales, are cheap too! They take the weather well and you can have a whole herd of them if you want. These originally came with pumpkin faces on top so I took those off and cast out of plaster a skull in two halves you could also use a bucky skull. I put two LED lights in the eye sockets that run off of a 9 volt battery, this lasts all the days I'm open. The wires run down the back of the pole so you can hide the battery in the top of the shirt. I painted the skulls with a yellow exterior paint and used a marker to make the black bone lines. Now spray a clear finish over all of that. To attach it to the pole I cut a channel into the two halves of the skull and then glued them over the pole with construction adhesive. To secure them in the ground I pound in a 2 foot long 2 x 2 and screw the bottom of the pole to that. This way you can put them where ever you want and face them different ways. The arms on mine have wire in them so you can pose the arms up and down. In between nights I cover them with a plastic garbage bag and at the end of the show I put them into a big leaf plastic bag and store them up-right out side in the "OK coral". |
