Termite Mound Pictures |
Above: 1" angle iron base with 1/4" steel plate for the back. #4 rebar 12" off center bent into a shape of a worn down termite mound. Left: 1" in diameter stainless steel pipe cut into 14" segments with standard threading in the inside edge. A 1" PVC coupling is attatched to this threading. PVC piece with end cap contains the treat. |
Attatched wire mesh onto the inside area of rebar. Spaced approximately 1" from rebar. Cut holes in mesh where the feeding tubes are to be placed. |
Two applications of concrete was applied, each layer around 2 inches thick. The second layer contained the pigments that colored the termite mound to a red earth tone. |
Texture was accomplished by throwing handfuls of concrete and then handfuls of dirt with rocks in it on top of the fresh concrete. |
