From
Mary Helen:
I've been married to
Patrick Hilton for nearly ten years, and, after many an adventurous move, we currently live in the Great Bridge area of
Chesapeake, Virginia. With a varied career in marketing, I've called The Mariners'
Museum home to my professional life for the past five years.
|
From
bringing home the famed turret of the Civil War's ironclad Monitor to mounting an
exhibition on the transatlantic slave trade, The Mariners' is not the same
sleepy Museum it was when we graduated in '83.
Patrick's career as an accomplished chef took us to many exciting places--from Naples to
Nantucket. He now is the assistant manager for the Courtyard Marriott at the
oceanfront in Virginia Beach, making Great Bridge a good halfway point for both of
us.
|
We are busy raising two active boys: Colin, age 4,
and Casey, soon-to-be 3.
In our not-so-spare time, we frequent the Outer Banks, visiting family in
Kitty Hawk and Ocracoke, N.C. We love to snow ski, camp, listen to live music, eat great food, and spend our days with friends and family we love.
We're on the way to the Outer Banks....so stop and see us if you're traveling

Memories from HRA? When I was entering my
first and only year at HRA as a senior, I was scared (as my good friend Don Barlow heeded
a warning to me) that I just might not fit in. What I found was an amazing group of
individuals, many of whom have become lifelong friends. I guess 20 years begins
to mean lifelong. What are a few of the memories that come to mind?
* Taking a role of film to be developed from the senior trip to
Disney World and finding pictures of a pyramid of naked guys' butts.
* Riding
home from my first party at HRA only to later discover that Pam was Don's girlfriend. Oops!
* Ski trips to snowshoe and getting mowed over by the ski lift.
* Going to hear the Kinks and Romantics at the Hampton Coliseum.
* Skinny dipping at the James River Country Club and making a quick
getaway.
* Doing a senior project on photography in Newport News Park.
I remember a lot of laughter, and some tears, but mainly a group of people
who shaped my life and helped play a part in making me the person I am. I hope to see everyone in July!
Take care,
Mary Helen
