I
then studied photography under South African photographer
Phillip Bekker in Atlanta and received a BA. in photographic
imaging. I assisted a printed for Vogue Photographer Parish
Kohanim in Atlanta and began working in portfolio development for
models and my own fine art personal work which has received many
awards especially in the D.C. area. My work has been exhibited at
the Peninsula Fine Art Center and the Contemporary Art Center of
Virginia.
One of my photographs was selected
as the official poster for Hampton Bay Days in 2002. Lately, Brooks
Johnson, curator of photography for the Chrysler Museum of Art noted
me with an award of distinction for body of work in a juried
exhibition. Also , I have begun to apply the same fine art technique
I use in fashion photography to weddings and location portraits in
the Hampton Roads area, D.C., and N.C. |
I
was awarded "Best in Show" in 2002 by Georgia Deal of the
Corcoran Museum of Art for a image taken of my girlfriend,
Lee. She is also an artist
working is oriental painting , glass , and ink drawing. She
has been an encouraging force behind my career and wonderful friend
for the last several years.
Mr. Spoor invited me to have a one
person show at Blue Skies Gallery in 2001 (in Hampton, next to
Benton Knight Limited).
My mother died after a long battle
with breast cancer in October of 2001. My loss and Glenn
Shepard's mother's death last year focused my attention even more on
the urgent need to be more emotionally open to the support,
trust, and generosity of good friends and to give more of myself |
