From Debbie:
After graduating from
HRA, I attended American University in
Washington, D.C. and received a B.S. in Political Science.
Thereafter, I shared an apartment in Richmond with Brooke Tiller
while attending law school at the University of
Richmond. I was
fortunate to see Susan Gill and Elizabeth Foxx numerous times as we all
studied (well, actually played pool) at the law library.
While in law school, I
met my husband Ken. We got
married in 1991 and moved to Norfolk where I clerked for the Court of
Appeals of Virginia and Ken was a JAG Captain
in the Army stationed at Ft. Eustis. In 1993, Ken was stationed in
Washington, D.C. I went back
to school at Catholic University where I
obtained a Masters in Library Science.
I worked as a law librarian for a large law firm in downtown D.C.
In 1996, we moved back
to Norfolk. Ken left active
duty and is now a Major in the Reserves.
He is an attorney for NASA Langley Research Center and an Adjunct
Faculty member at ODU. I work
part-time at the Norfolk Law Library and full time at the “Wilson
house.” We have three great
children - Jake
(7), Miriam (4) and Sima
who just turned one (hence my full time job at the “Wilson house”)
Some
of my memories at HRA are:
* Donuts for Keyettes and burritos for Spanish Club.
* “Stop Yakking” sign in Mrs. Spoor’s study hall.
* Watching Elaine Miles run barefoot across the parking lot after
the mail truck, thinking that her shoes were on the truck.
* Ski trips at Snowshoe.
* Driving lots of people around in the NOC mobile.
* Long school bus drives for all the away basketball and football
games.
* Noodle Night
* All the wonderful graduation parties we gave for each other.
* Pep Rallies
* Our incredible class spirit!
I’m
so sorry that I will miss the reunion.
I’ll be thinking of ya’ll!
