We have the Jaguars and the Cougars playing in the NZ Flag Football Championship. This is a 5 week championship with the winners being determined on the number of points earned after the final round.
NEWS OF 10 NOVEMBER 2001
This week, the Cougars were the beaten finalists in the final round of the Flag Football Championship. It wasn't enough to edge the Jaguars out of 2nd place, the Tamaki Lightning Flash won the competition with our Jaguars and Cougars filling 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Flag has been an excellent medium to put together our passing attack. As we move to 7s, we will be able to work on our defense and line work.

NEWS OF 3 NOVEMBER 2001

Another good week in the flag competition. the Cougars were runners-up in Whangarei with the Jaguars 3rd. The Tamaki Flash will not be headed as the championship ends next week. Flag has been an important training tool for us, we are happy with our passing game and look forward to adding some new dimensions when we start 7s in 2 weeks time.

NEWS OF 31 OCTOBER 2001

After 3 rounds, Tamaki Lightning Flash head the table with the Jaguars and Cougars in 2nd and 3rd place. Jaguars have the best chance, mathematically, to beat out the Flash but they must win the final 2 tournaments to do so.

This weekend the championship is being played at  Tikipunga High School, Whangarei. It is being held in conjunction with a junior flag tournament there.
