| Women's football will be played for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere when the Gridiron New Zealand Woman's Gridiron League kicks off in the new year. The Pride (Vixens) have been unable to attract enough players to join women's teams from the Lightning and Raiders in the competition. PLAYERS ARE WANTED NOW FOR THE 2003 WOMEN'S TEAM.
