| A panoramic view off of LA Highway 3213 Veterans Memorial Bridge: the Mississippi is lined with industry and cargo ships. The water tower is in Lutcher and the plant off to the right in the picture is probably the Dixie Cystals sugar processing facility. For many years there was no way on or off Veterans Memorial Bridge -- the Louisiana legislature apparently appropriated funds for the structure's construction but neglected to allocate funding for construction of access ramps. |
