| This the view north along LA 986 near Poplar Grove. The levee protecting the plantations and industry runs along the right (eastern) side of the picture. The presence of a historic marker in such close proximity to gas pipeline warning markers provides the perfect picture of south Louisiana's dual character, as both a tourist paradise and rich base of natural resources. |
