Close-ups of the damage to the I-65 overpass at "Malfunction Junction", damaged in the January 5, 2002 accident involving a tanker truck, driven by Tim Dison, and a Chevrolet Caprice. Originally, these pics were from unknown source -- a buddy of mine works at a downtown bank and received them via email. He had no idea who had taken the photos.
In September 2003, however, I received an email from Tim Colvert, chief bridge inspector for the Alabama Dept. of Transportation. He had access to the scene and took these unique photographs. Thanks, Tim, for allowing me to post your pictures. This is a popular page in the collection.
