First when I was borned of the spirit of the Lord He
entered into my heart and has remained as an
endwelling companion ever since. Even though I became
careless in my life style. He never left me.
But He remained to guide my foot step and always
controling my conscience, even when I was careless in
my life style. He just kept condemning me of my sin;
And because of the Holy Spirit I have returned to the
fellowship, and joy of salvation, of the Lord Jesus
Christ.
I believe in the Holy Spirit because of what the
bible says about Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3/16 & 17
16. And Jesus when He was baptized went up straighht-
way out of the water: And lo, the heavens were open
unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God decending like
a dove, and lighting upon Him
17. And lo a voice from heaven saying, this is My
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Luke 4/1
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from
Jordan was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.
John 16/7 & 8
7. Neverthe less I tell you the truth; it is
expedient for you that I go away: For if I go not
away, The comforter will not come unto you; But if,I
depart, I will send him unto you.
8. And when He is come. He will reprove the world of
sin, and of righteousness,and of judgment.
John 14/16 & 17
16. And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you
another comforter, that He may abiide with you for
ever;
17. Even the spirit of truth; whom the world cannot
receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth
Him: But ye know Him; For He dwelleth with you, and
shall be in you.
John 14/26
26. But the comforter,which is the Holy Ghost, whom
the Father will send in My name, He shall teach
you.all things, And bring all things to your
rememberance, what so ever I have said unto you.
Yes Jesus was with the Holy Spirit all through His
earthly ministry, And then sent Him to be our
comforter and to lead us in the paths of
righteousness as He taught us during His earthly
ministry.
However The Holy Spirit has other duties, He also
seals the true children of God to the day of our Lord
and to the day of redemption.
Ephesians 1/13
13. In whom ye also trusted,after that ye heard the
word of truth,the gospel of your salvation:In whom
also after that ye believed,ye were sealed with that
Holy Spirit of promise.
Ephesians 4/30
30.And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God,whereby ye
are sealed unto the day of redemption.
In the two above verses we find that we are sealed by
the Holy Spirit of God,and the Holy Spirit of Promise
and we will be until the day of of our Lord, or
until the day of redemption.
We all pretty well know that Peter was one of the
greatest of all the disciples,However He had his
weaker moments also, let us look at one of those
weaker moments.
Matthew 26/34 & 35
34.Jesus said unto him,Verily I say unto thee,That
this night,before the cock crow,thou shalt deny Me
thrice.
35.Peter said unto Him,Though I should die with Thee,
yet will I not deny Thee,Likewise also said all the
disciples.
Matthew 26/70
70.But he denied before them all, saying,I know not
what thou sayest.
Matthew 26/72
72.And again he denied with an oath.I do not know the
Man.
Matthew 26/74
74.Then began he to curse and to sware,saying,I know
not the man.And immediately the cock crew.
John 21/3
3,Simon Peter saith unto them,I go a fishing,they say
unto him.We also go with thee.They went forth,and
entered into a ship immediately;and that night they
caught nothing.
We bring forth the above verses just to prove in a
weak moment,we really need the Holy Spirit,And that
the Holy Spirit is able and willing to help in the
days that we need Him.
But now suppose we take another look at Peter after
the day of Pentecost,Now Peter is filled with the
Holy Spirit and now very-very strong in his faith.
Acts 2/1 thru 4
1.And when the day of Pentecost was fully come,they
were all with one accord in one place.
2.And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a
rushing mighty wind,and it filled all the house where
they were sitting.
3.And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like a
fire,and it sat upon each of them.
4.And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,And
began to speak with other tongues,as the Spirit gave
them utterannce.
Now after the day of Pentecost, let us look at some
of Peter's teachings and preachings.Just a verse or
so.And we will find Peter bold, and not denying
any-more.
Acts 2/36 thru 38
36.Therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus,whom ye
have crucified,both Lord and Christ.
37.Now when they heard this,they were pricked in
their hearts,and said unto Peter and the rest of the
apostles,Men and brethern,what shall we do?
38.Then Peter said unto them,Repent and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins,and ye shall receive the gift of
the Holy Ghost.
Yes the gift of the Holy Spirit strengthened Peter
and all the disciples of that day,and will help us
to-day.
Of course I believe in the Holy Spirit.
