Hartman House is
set in an authentic English Victorian Home. The floor plans used
for Hartman House were drawn in the mid 1800s, designed for a British earl
and his family.

A few modifications have been made to the
original plans to make for better roleplay, and to better suit our 20th
century ideals. For example, in the original house, the kitchen was
in the basement. To make moving about the house a bit easier (and
because I can't bear the idea of our poor maids drudging away in a basement
kitchen!) I enclosed a rear porch and designated that the kitchen on the
floor plans.
Many of the upstairs bedrooms had adjoining
sitting rooms, to make a suite of rooms for members of the family.
Because the only members of the Hartman family in residence are Kathryn
and Richard, I kept one suite intact for them, and labeled the other rooms
as bedrooms that adjoin others, rather than sitting rooms.
In addition, I did not include floor plans
for the attic or the basement levels, because I wanted to leave those up
for development. There often comes a time in roleplay when a room
is needed that just isn't available. This way, cast members can upload
their own pictures of basement and/or attic rooms when the time comes that
they have need for a room not labeled on the floor plan. For example,
if additional quarters are needed to house servants, or if the Lord should
need to lock someone in a dungeon, new pictures can be found and uploaded
to the "attic" or "basement" folders on the group site.
