The One True
God is a
Covenant Healer
Many Christians who are
sick think that due to their belief in the Lord Jesus Christ, having agreement with other Christians in prayer and receiving treatment from the most brilliant physicians in the best hospitals using the most modern drugs they would surely be healed. Nothing is guaranteed! What they fail to understand is this, unlike
salvation which is an unconditional free gift that is given by faith through
grace, physical healing is conditional on whether or not we do the things that
pleases God and also keep His commandments and statutes.
“If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do
what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His
statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the
Egyptians. For I am
the LORD who heals you.” (Ex.
15:26)
This verse is widely
referred to as the Old Testament Divine Healing Covenant. It is called a “covenant,” because in it God
promises He will keep His people free from diseases, and conditions the promise
upon their diligent obedience.
In promising His
continuing, healing presence as our Covenant Healer, God places three great
conditions before His people.
First, God asks us to
heed Him. He wants us to listen for His
Voice, to have a hearing ear so we will hear Him. God has always spoken to His people and He
will speak to you today, but you must cultivate an attitude of listening for
His voice. He speaks and heals us in
many ways.
Through the Lord Jesus
Christ: “And Jesus went about all the cities and
villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” (Mt. 9:35)
Through His anointed
servants: The Lord Jesus Christ sent out
apostles and evangelists and commanded them.
“As you go,
preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at
hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the
lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Mt. 10:7-8; Lk. 10:9)
Through His Word: “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered
them from their destructions.” (Psm. 107:20)
Second, God wants us to “do what is right in His
sight.” He is seeking people who will not only hear
His words, but will take them to heart and act upon them – people who will obey
His word and not be hearers only (Jas. 1:22-25).
Third, God wants us to “give ear to His
commandments and keep all His statutes”. The Ten
Commandments govern the personal lives of God’s people as they relate to Him
and their fellowmen. The statutes
governed their religious lives so that the people would know how to approach
God on the terms that He dictates. An
important statute that relates to the health of the Israelites concerns the
eating of clean and unclean meats (Leviticus 11).
The covenant is made
certain by the fact that God joins His mighty name to the promise. He calls Himself “the LORD who heals” –
“YAHWEH Rapha” which is one
of the compound names by which God revealed His attributes to
While sin and
disobedience are not always the direct causes of sickness, man’s fall into sin
is the original and underlying cause of all disease. Those who seek healing will benefit by
looking to the Lord Jesus Christ our sin-bearer, along with pursuing renewed
consecration. (Jas. 5:14-16; 1 Cor. 11:29-32)
God promises
to protect from
plague those who
have trust in Him
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I
will trust.” (Psm.
91:1-2) “Because you have made the LORD, who is my
refuge, even the Most High, your habitation, no evil shall befall you, nor
shall any plague come near your dwelling;” (Psm. 91:9-10)

It is sad that many good
Christians are suffering from the debilitating disease - cancer and have sought
treatment through radiation, chemotherapy or surgery which are
the most common treatments for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Because of the risk that
a lymphoma has spread beyond the original tumors, surgery alone isn't usually enough.
Radiation therapy uses
high-energy x-rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors.
Chemotherapy is the use
of drugs to kill cancer cells.
Chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma usually includes a combination of
several drugs.
Chemotherapy is called a
systemic treatment because the drugs travel throughout the body. This means
that even those cancer cells that have not yet been found may be killed.
Patients may receive chemotherapy alone or in combination with radiation
therapy.
Chemotherapy is a
combination of drugs, one of each which has it's own
specific effect. Certain types of leukemia and various cancers of the lymphatic
system are often effectively treated by this means. A combination of drugs is
required because cancer cells can become resistant to therapy when only one
drug is used for a time. In some instances, it appears that the cell membrane
of resistant cancer cells contain a carrier that pumps the drug out of the cell.
Chemotherapy is a brutal
attack on all cells in your body. Chemotherapy kills cancer cells and good
healthy living cells as well. It is a
gamble that the chemo will kill more cancer cells than healthy cells.
Chemotherapy can permanently destroy
a patient's ability to produce sperm. If you want to have children in the
future, sperm banking is suggested for men taking chemotherapy before the chemo
treatments begin.
Most
oncologists (cancer specialists) in a medical survey said they would take nothing. Taking nothing is
better than chemotherapy and radiation. But there is an even better option.
Take no chemotherapy, take no radiation, but do take alternative treatments
designed to treat the cancer.
In other words, why
would you take something that is killing your immune system and is not healing
your cancer with something that is trying to build your
immune system and heal you?
A person gets cancer
because the immune system is too weak to routinely kill cancer cells and stop
the metastasis of the cancer. Chemotherapy and radiation further destroy a
patient's immune system. Is that good? Chemotherapy and radiation do not stop
the spread of cancer completely. Is that good?
Chemotherapy and radiation do not kill all of the cancer cells, and what
cancer cells remain, have no immune system to kill them, thus they can
proliferate uncontrollably. Is that good?
Complete Trust
in God results
in the Healing
of Cancer
Dr. Lorraine Day reversed her
severe, advanced cancer by rebuilding her immune system by natural therapies,
so her body could heal itself. In
her video "Cancer Doesn't Scare Me Anymore" she described how she
was completely healed from cancer of the breast which had spread throughout her
lymphatic system and muscles of her chest.
As a medical doctor she knew what the profession did to people with
cancer, and she refused to go along, even when her cancer doctor refused to
treat her unless she complied with either (1) mastectomy (2) radiation or (3)
chemotherapy. She asked the doctor: “My immune system is the most important factor
in my fight against cancer. Why should I let you destroy it?” Dr. Day says: “A person cannot get
well when the immune system does not function properly.”
In her second video “You can’t improve on
God” Dr.
Day described God’s Ten Natural Health Laws that were revealed to her when she
sought after God’s help through prayer and studying the Holy Bible. She followed every one of the laws which she
called the Ten Commandments of Good Health for her complete healing. The best part of God’s Laws for Good Health
is they are all free except that you only pay for the nutritious food which you
have to pay anyway when you eat other foods.
God’s way is the best way.
1. Nutrition that is given by God in the Holy
Bible.
2. Exercise regularly – our bodies are created by
God for movement.
3. Pure clean water – drink at least 8 (each 8
ounces) to 10 glasses a day.
4. Sunlight is given by God for good health – go
outdoors half hour daily
5. Temperance – abstain from tobacco, alcohol,
drugs and unclean food
6. Fresh Air – go outdoors daily to breathe
oxygen that cleans the blood
7. Rest – proper time to sleep is essential for
recuperation and recovery
8. Stress relief – do not worry about anything, just relax and be joyful

is not good
for the Cancer
Patient “Many who die from
cancer, don't actually die from the cancer itself, but from losing the battle
against the side effects of treating the symptoms, mostly through chemotherapy
and radiation. "Chemotherapy and radiation DESTROY the immune system, the
ONLY system in our body that gets us well and keeps us well from EVERY
disease! Chemotherapy and radiation also
destroy cells indiscriminately, good cells, bad cells, they kill them all. Chemotherapy
is poison and kills cells by poisoning them. It is a chemical and, of course,
is unable to tell a cancer cell from a non-cancer cell. That's why a person's hair falls out and they
get so sick and vomit. The explanation the doctor gives to justify using
chemotherapy is that the chemotherapy tends to kill the cells that are the
fastest growing or the fast-dividing cells, thus it will kill MORE cancer cells
than normal cells. And this is true, however, it kills
so MANY normal cells, particularly the immune cells, that the patient often
dies from the TREATMENT rather than from the cancer! What about radiation?
Radiation burns out the cancer, in fact, it burns everything in its pathway. It
also, like chemotherapy, kills cells absolutely indiscriminately and it
destroys the immune system. When the immune system is so severely damaged by
chemotherapy or radiation, it can no longer restrain the spread of cancer which
is why after 5 to 7 years (average) it is common to find that the cancer has
returned and spread to other organs."

Way to be
healed When a Christian or loved one has cancer, the pain can be very
severe that one is unable to think like a normal believer. There is a tendency to have a quick fix to
lessen the pain and opt for a solution that may not be good. That is the crucial moment when one should
put all the faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. “Trust in the LORD with
all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In
all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the
LORD and depart from evil. It will be
health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.” (Pro. 3:5-8) God wants all
Christians to have
Good Health “Beloved, I pray that you
may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 Jn. 2) It is God’s
will for you
to be healed “When He had come down from
the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.
And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, ‘Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.’ Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him,
saying, ‘I am willing; be cleansed,’ And immediately his leprosy was
cleansed.” (Mt. 8:1-3) Believe the Lord
Jesus Christ will
heal you “When Jesus
departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, ‘Son of
David, have mercy on us!’ And when He
had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that
I am able to do this?’ They said to Him,
‘Yes, Lord.’ Then He touched their eyes,
saying, ‘According to your faith let it be to
you.’ And their eyes were opened, And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, ‘See that no one
knows it.’ But when they departed, they
spread the news about Him in all that country.” (Mt. 9:27-31) “So Jesus
answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God.
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed,
and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that
those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you
ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mk. 11:22-24) “Jesus said
to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mk. 9:23) Jesus healed all
sicknesses and diseases
on the Cross “Now when
Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a
fever. And He touched her hand, and the
fever left her. Then she arose and
served them. When evening had come, they
brought to Him many who were demon-possessed.
And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: ‘He Himself took our infirmities and bore our
sicknesses.” (Mt. 8:14-17; Isa. 53:5) Think about Christ’s
atonement when you
are suffering “For to
this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an
example, that you should follow His steps:
‘Who committed no sin, nor was guile found in His mouth’, who when He
was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten,
but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins
in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for
righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed.” (1 Pet. 2:21-24) Rejoice during time
of Suffering and
Pain “Rejoice in the Lord
always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of Go, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:4-7) Pray and Sing
Hymns to relieve
Stress Pain and suffering brings stress to the person and that is the
time the Christian should pray and sing hymns.
The Bible teaches: “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.
Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing
psalms.” (Jas. 5:13) It is good to
listen to Christian music that glorifies God, soothes the nerves and eases the
pain. Fill your mind
with only Positive
Things Finally, brethren,
whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of
good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy –
