Just so everyone knows what is expected when they join our web family, we thought this would be a good place to remind everyone of our main rules. These rules are what make us a tight, happy, peaceful and close family. They must be followed at all times.

1. Everyone has their own ideas and ways of thinking, please respect that. We all travel our own pathes, but we come here to get support, friendship, and have fun! 
That is the purpose of this family, to have wonderful lasting friendships. Therefore, if you find a member that you have had issues with, in the past, be it personal, or in other groups, please do not bring them with you to Heart Of Gold. 

2. Only Family Safe websites can apply. No hatred or links to sexually orientated sites allowed, also nothing related to satanic sites. Please respect our wishes...we check our potential family members sites, so please, do not apply if you know you do not qualify. 

3. All sites must have heart. In this family, we truly care about each other and we work together to form a peaceful happy family, sharing and caring. We support each other through lifes everyday endeavors and triumphs, sharing the laughter and the sorrow along the way. That is what makes Heart Of Gold a truly unique family.

4. No advertising or business sites need apply, these are personal web sites only. You may have a business site, but you may not apply for it to be in the family. It must be a personal web site in some form.

5. You must be at least 18 years old. No minors will be accepted.

6. Heart Of Gold is a place for kindness and kindness only. No cruelty, prejudice, bigotry, religion bashing or name calling will be tolerated. If this is found to be occuring, you  will be removed from the Heart Of Gold Family. We will not tolerate cruel remarks made to other members.

7. Should a problem arise, there is a Grievance Committee in place to handle such occurances. Please direct your concerns to this committee privately, do not post them in egroups for all to see. Egroups is not the place to air your differences. This committee is here for each and every member, to ensure harmony among us all. Your concerns will be handled with strict confidence, in a timely manner, and with respect. Complaints will be addressed on a case by case basis. 

8.  There will be no spamming, stalking, hacking or other illegal activities. If you are found to be doing any of these your site will be instantly removed, and you will be notified by e-mail that this has been done.

9. If you need to take a leave of absence, for whatever reason, all we ask is that you let the Leader know via email. If you wish to leave the family for medical, family or personal reasons, again you will leave in good standing by emailing the Leader. However, if you leave the family due to reasons that did not leave you in good standing, 
(either the Grievance Committee asked you to leave or anyone on the Governing Board asked you to leave),
you need not reapply for membership.

At any time, rules may be added/modified to reflect concerns of the Governing Board. Any additions or modifications of the rules will be sent to the entire Heart of Gold Family so that all are aware of any changes. We want this to be a safe, respected, loving and fun environment for this family of friends!

These rules are in place for the good and protection of all family members. They are not meant to push any potential member away, moreover, they are what creates the harmonious environment we all strive together to maintain.
