{Bob}{Larry}{Junior}{Archibald}{Laura}{Pa Grape& Family} {The Mystery Female Asparagus}{Mr. Nezzer}{French Peas}
Co-host of and the brains behind VeggieTales, Bob the Tomato is a vegetable with a mission. His dream is to produce a TV show that combines the intelligence of "60 Minutes", the wit of "My Three Sons", and the warmth of "The Waltons" within the produce section of your neighborhood supermarket. Bob hopes to be the first vegetable to win an Emmy and a Nobel prize for his innovative work in broadcasting. His trademark greeting sums up his life completely, "I'm Bob! I'm a tomato and I'm here to help you!"
Bob has starred in every video, normally playing himself. His character roles include; himself in episodes one, two, three, five, the Christmas special video and audio editions, and episode six. In episode four, he played Shadrach along with Larry as Abednego and Junior as Meshach. Bob's most recent role was the narrator on "Josh and the Big Wall"

VeggieTales' other host, Larry the Cucumber, hopes simply to make it to the end of his show without flubbing his lines. While he may be a cucumber of somewhat limited intellect, Larry's heart knows no bounds. His childlike disposition and naivete may create headaches for Bob but lots of fun for veiwers! Larry's long-term goals are to bring joy to children everywhere and to convince people, once and for all, that he is not a pickle.
Larry's acting roles include himself and Daniel in episode one, himself in episode two, the beat-up guy and himself in episode three, Abednego in four, Larry-Boy in five, himself in the Christmas episode, and Larry-Boy in ep. six and himself in the Christmas audio album. Larry also hosted the Very Silly Sing-Along. Larry also had the lead role as Joshua in the new release, "Josh and the Big Wall".

Jr. is a normal, run-of-the-mill 5-year-old, who just happens to be an asparagus. He still, however, wrestles with all the issues common to kids his age. Luckily, he gets lots of help from his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Apsaragus, who work hard to teach Jr. the values he needs.
Junior has been in every episode so far, playing himself in episodes one, two, the last half of three, the Christmas special video and audio cassette, and episode six. Other roles include; the good Samaritan in episode three, Meshach in ep. four, and Dave in ep. five. Junior aided Bob in his role as narrator in the new movie (by now you should know its name).
Both Junior and his mother are performed by Lisa Vischer. His father is performed by Dan Anderson. Back to Top
Archibald, on the other hand, is another story. Raised as a proper English gentleman, Archie is,how shall we put it....a bit uptight. Stongly opposed to all things "silly", Archie would rather perform Shakespeare or dramatic readings from Webster's Dictionary than the lighthearted stuff Bob and Larry enjoy. The realtionship between Archibald and the other Asparagus' is still unconfirmed (although, rumor has it that he is really Junior's uncle).
Archie was part of the origonal cast, having starred in Episode One, "Where's God When I'm S-Scared?". Since then, he has appeared in episode two as the millionaire, episode three as the mayor of Flibber-o-loo, episode five as King Saul, and finally episode six as Alfred, Larry-Boy's assistant. He also appeared in the Christmas audio album. Archie did a great job with the role as the "messenger from God" in "J.A.T.B.W" (I'll admit I'm getting lazy-that's a long title!).

Laura the Carrot made her debut in "Rack, Shack, and Benny" as the determined, outspoken friend of Bob, Larry, and Junior's characters. Since then, she has starred in the Christmas special and "Larry-boy and the Fib from Outer Space". Lenny, her sometimes whiney brother, has joined her in several scenes of both later movies.
Laura is performed by Kristen Blegen. Back to Top
Head of the notoriously grumpy Grape Family, it's obvious that Pa stuggles with everyday problems most of us would be able to handle with ease. The somewhat lacking brain capabilities of this particular character offer boundless oppotunities for humor. Unfortunatly, most of Pa's family seems to have learned all they know from good old Pa; all that is, except Rosie. The one redeeming factor in the family, Rosie seems to be a mutation from the rest and developed "quite a head for numbers".
Ma and Rosie have only starred in Episode Two, "God Wants Me to Forgive Them?". Tom and Pa have gone on to star in "Dave and the Giant Pickle" and the Christmas audio cassette, while Pa also had a more recent role in the "Very Silly Sing-Along". They also starred together in "Josh", both as grumpy Isrealites.
Pa and Tom are performed by Phil Vischer. Back to Top
This realtively neglected character has produced quite a stir in the VeggieTales world for only having starred in two roles. This is such a controversial character that I have devoted an entire page to her career and success. Check out the Female Asparagus Mystery for more information.
I don't have a clue right now as to who does this character's voice; I'll look it up and get back to you. Back to Top
As the resident "bad guy" of Dinkletown, Mr. Nezzer enjoys spending his time devising evil plots to rid the world of such do-gooders as Bob, Larry, and Junior. So far, however, his plans have failed, and the gentle ways of his enemies have won him over by the end of every episode.
It is important to remember that there are actually two Nezzer's: Nebby K., and Wally P. Nebby K., the original Nezzer, starred in "Rack, Shack, and Benny", while his identical brother, Wally P., starred in "The Toy Who Saved Christmas" and the audio cassette. Either Wally or Nebby (who can tell?) starred in the non-speaking role of Moses in the new movie.
Phil Vischer performs the voice of both Nebby and Wally. Back to Top
The French Peas have quickly become one of the most popular VeggieTales characters since their debut in "Dave and the Giant Pickle". Peas of debatable nationality and background appeared in "Rack, Shack, and Benny" as factory workers, but have never been confirmed to be the peas we speak of now. It would have been helpful to hear one talk, but that didn't happen. The French peas are decidedly that, with their thick French accents and distinctive French names. Jean Claude, Phillipe, and Cristoffe were officially introduced to the world of VeggieTales fans in 1996 and since then have held our loyalty and their popularity.
I have pretty much already named all of the videos the Peas have starred in; "Rack, Shack, and Benny" (remember, this one is negotiable!), "Dave and the Giant Pickle", the Christmas audio cassette, and of course, the new addition, "Josh and the Big Wall". I am aware the other pea characters exist which I have not given mention to yet, but I will devote a profile section to the others shortly.
Phil Vischer perfoms the voice of Phillipe (I find this rather appropriate), Mike Nawrocki performs Jean Claude, and Chris Olsen performs Cristoffe (another similarity between names!). Back to Top
