The Rooks Family

 

We are the descendants of Col. James Rooks who came to Fight in the Venezuelan War of Independence with the British Legion, He died in the Battle of Vargas Swamp (Colombia) in 1820.

Afterwards his descendants established themselves in Trinidad, Starting with Charles Ody Rooks b. Circa 1801 England m. 16 Dec 1826 London, England Caroline Matilda Swift b. Circa 1800 Probably England We believe that this is the Rooks family that immigrated to Trinidad.

Afterwards his descendants established themselves in Trinidad, where they have moved throughout the world, some are still in Trinidad, Others are in Venezuela, Canada, The United States, The United Kingdom Sweden and other countries.

Our Grandfather was Hector Rooks who died a couple of years ago in Trinidad, so if you happen to be related we wish to get in touch with you and at the same time we can get you in touch with other members of the family through the internet.
