Alone

I thought you were the one the Lord had given me
I thought our love eternal, together we would be
I wanted someone close to me to share the joys of life
I wanted strength to hold me when there were times of strife
I looked to you for wisdom, knowledge and truth to share
You told me I didn't respect your line and that you didn't care
You blamed me for your sorrow, it was me who caused you pain
By asking to share your spirit with me, I caused you loss, not gain
Today I feel an emptiness of something deeply lost
Upon a raging sea of loneliness I am tossed
I have no mate who shares the truth
No friend to help me found
The path to Heaven, to my Lord
I fear alone I am bound
