Never Love Again

There was a time not long ago, but far away
And I said I’d never love again.
It was a time of a hurting heart and broken pride
So I said I’d never love again.
I remember the time, walking in the waves, laughing at the stars
I loved him. I’ll never love again.
But the times changed and the waves grew cold.
The clouds covered the stars and laughter died with my heart.
I’ll never love again.
There was a time and I laugh now for I was a little girl
With childish ideas of never loving again.
Then came the time I saw your eyes look while mine were looking too.
Did I say I would never love again?
That was the time when in the twinkling of the moment
My past was forgotten.
I never said I would ‘never’ love again!
Now there are time after telling you ‘I love you’
My thoughts drift back...
I will never love like ‘this’ again.
