Luke 8:11-15
"The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so they cannot believe and be saved. Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among the thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stand for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it and by persevering produce a crop."
Looking back over my adult life I see that many of my seeds have fallen on all of the different soils and paths. In my younger years I was only interested in myself and what was in it for me. Seed was falling along the path and in the rocky soil. Though the Lord had continually called me to himself I resisted thinking I could handle whatever life had to dish out on my own. What a foolish child I was then. Then as life proceeded to dish out far more than I could handle I called upon him once again to help me out of the mess I had gotten myself into. The seed was falling amongst the thorns and they were choking me and his word to me. But this time it was different, He came to my rescue. I actually heard his voice and responded to his call upon my life.
Many years have passed since the last episode when I heard the Lord call me and ran into his arms. I continually battle the devil, who tries to fill my mind with lies of guilt, worthlessness, complacency, and sin. But I have learned to choose the battles carefully only fully engaging in war when I know the Lord is in charge. Only with the Lord can I be victorious in battles with the devil. It always has been and always will be a battle between good and evil. It is just that the evil one has not figured out yet that the battle was truly won quite some time ago when Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave three days later. Jesus said it, "It is finished." Satan just didn't hear him and hasn't been listening since.
No matter where the seed has fallen in your life in the past there is time now for fertile soil and a garden or crop unlike anything you have ever experienced in your life. Let the Lord know you are ready for the fruit of your life. Tell him you have persevered and the soil of your heart is ready. Open your spirit and allow the presence of the Lord to show you the wonders of his love, his word, and his abundance on your life. Then stand back and watch all that the Lord has in store for you and your life and your loved ones. It's awesome and amazing. It is supernatural. It is God!!
