My family tie is to Lois (Lowas) Bush Henslee, she is the daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann Bush. Joseph is the son of Phillip and Mary Bryan Bush. Lois married Thomas Henslee 11-21-1805 in Caswell Co NC. Thomas died 1836 and the family, Lois included made he move to Webster Co, Missouri, Lois was in the 1860 Webster Co Mo Census, she died shortly after that. You have done a great job on the family. I am very new to genealogy. My father's (Bush) side of the family doesn't know much about their family at all. My father Eric Arthur Bush and his wife Florence immigrated to Canada. We lived in British Columbia, Canada, then on to Washington State in 1957 My son is first generation American. The farthes I can go back to is that: My grandfather is Bob Bush (no middle name ever given and he was addamant that his name was Bob and not Robert) he was born 22 January 1896 in Sedgeford (?) England. He married Lottie Elizabeth Gooch (date and place unknown.He died in Cobham, Surrey, Engl nd April 1980. His brothers and sister's names are Joe, Billy and Betty. His father was William Bush born in 1864 and died in 1908 (I don't know where, but probably in England. That's all I know about him except he was married to Emma Cadamy (?). ANY hel would be greatly appreciated.

My tie-in is with John Madison Bush, son of Mercer, son of John and Mary (Polly) Tillman Bush. The family papers I have are about the life of John Madison Bush. At the time these papers were written, John Madison's wife, Sarah Anne Watson, was still liv ng. The writings appear to be from "The History of Kern County" (California) by Wallace M. Morgan. Both the Bush and Watson names (Watsonville, Ca.) figure in California history. I don't know how to tell you the elation I feel at reading the treasure you have created, but offer my heartfelt thanks (and sincere admiration!) for all you have done.

I really enjoyed the journey through your family notes and hoped that I could find some link to mine. My g-grandfather,John William Bush, was born in either Tennessee or NC about 1840 and his parents were both listed on the census as NC. We do not know th ir names or have any information except that that g-grandpa John was supposed to be part Indian. We have no leads except for oral statements from my father. Our Bush family later settled in Carroll County, TN after living in Graves Co, KY where my grandfa her, Joseph Richard Bush was born in 1880. I'm amazed at the information contained in your website. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us. My gg-grandmother was Julia Ann Bush. She was born Aug. 12, 1832 and died Oct. 6, 1874. Julia is listed in census records as being born in Scotland and other places VA. She married John Hunter on Jan. 1, 1850 in Greenbrier Co., VA(now WV). Her mother' name was probably Sarah. There is a story in the family that goes: After the Civil War, his grandpa recieved some land from the Union, for what reason we don't know, his brothers, (their names unknown) were jealous, so they got him dr nk, and tricked him into signing a paper, which deeded the land over to them.The land was around the Brewton/Red Level area of AL. I have no idea if this story is true or not, but Grandpa sure loved to tell it! If anybody can give me any help with these names I would sure appreciate it!!!

Hello Bush Family! I am just getting started in my immediate search for my grandfather--Joseph Richard Bush born in Natchez, Mississippi in the mid to late 1890s, married to Susie Grant Gregory Bush at some point, had at least one son, my father, John Wi liam Bush who was born in Memphis,TN although his parents were not residents of Tennessee at the time. My dadd's birth certificate indicates that their place of residence was on Hernando Road, that's it, no city nothing else. Joseph and Susie possible l ved in Shelby County, TN. Need any information. John William Bush (my dad) is believed to be an only child, but he had three children by his wife Barbara Ann Richardson Bush--Michael Bush, Gregory Bush (who later legally changed name to John Gregory Bus ) and Natalie Bush Shackles. John and Barbara were married in January 15, 1954 and divorced in 1978. John William is still alive, however, Barbara died in May of 1998 from cancer. Their grandchildren are as follows: Michael has one daughter, Latasha N Bush born mid to late 1970s. He later married Lois Roberta Ulrich in the late 1970s, there wer no children born to this union. John Gregory who married Bernadine Love on 11/14/81 has two daughters Natasha Love Bush, born May 7, 1982 and Aleasha Love Bu h, born September 23, 1986. My great-great grandmother Judith Clark was the widow of Elkanah in Texas. She married 2. Jenifer Mifflin Blakey in 1871 and had 6 children. My grandfather George Fuller Blakey, the youngest. She died in Feb. 1889 when my grandpa was only 4 mos. old. She's buried in Jacksonville, Texas cemetery.

My Bush line is connected with Mark Eitzen (whom I'm told is a distant cousin).My great-grandmother was Della Bush Mitchell d/o William Henry and Mary L.(Tooke) Bush.She had a brother,Samuel Edgar Bush,b.1870,d.1942.Della was b.1874 and died 1944. A quick perusal did not find any of my Bush relatives, so we are probably a different branch. The information we have on our family goes back to a John Bush whose birthdate/place is unknown, but who died about 1820 in Washington County, Indiana, and marr ed a Mary Phillips, who also died there in 1841.

My grandfather, Charles Henry Bush was born in Ole, PA (Pennsylvania Dutch Country). He was Amish and left the strict lifestyle for life in the big city of Philadelphia. He was born 9/13/1891 and died in June 1971. He was married to Dorothy Faber and they had 6 children. Is there any connection?

My Greatgrandmother was Louisa Bush. She was born April 16, 1848 in Germany??? According to my Grandfather, she came to the U.S. when she was 4 years old. She died Dec. 7, 1939. Excellent site. I stem from William bush who was killed in the batlle of Orkansky(sp) NY. In 1770 he married Catherine Casselman. When he was killed his widow and children came to Canada, daughter Anna married John Hanes and lived at the Crysler Farm 1812 battlesite (their farm was the hospital). I wonder time and again if William had brothers and some stayed in USA. Dear folks, I just figured your connections to my aunt Georgia and I will work on sending the proof. Hers goes Bessie (Eliz) Bush married Willis Wayson from the Pt. Townsend ,WA desc. of old MD Wayson family. Bessie is the daughter of Lemuel Bush and Lida (Lydia) Swon (Ed Swon born KY 1798 Scott Co married to Ella Darnes of old VA family) Lemuel and Lid had Tom, and Bessie only. Bessie had Georgia JOhnson (my sunt by marriage) and Ed and Earl Wayson. Lemuel Bush' father was Jordan Bush who is an heir of Francis Bush. Lemuel had a brother named Fielding and there were 13 boys in that family and only 1 girl. Great site!! I am looking for any information on my ggrandfather William Boyd Bush. He was born in TX in about 1874. He married Modena Ethel Hart and had several children (including my grandfather William Franklin Bush in 1905). He died in Rogers, AR n 1938. A stunning web site. I was interested also because of the Research I've been doing on a James B. Davis from Fayette County Kentucky, who moved to Cass County Illinois in 1835. His father, James Davis was located in the Prince William County area of Virginia prior to the American Revolution. He lost four brothers in the revolution. Hi Folks! I "bumped" into your page this morning and am greatly impressed! You have done a great job. I descend from a John Neece who married Mahulda Ellis 5/31/1800 in Jefferson Co., TN. I THINK my John is the same mysterious John who was the son of Henry Neece and Ann Bush, but cannot prove it. The only thing I have to go on is we know nothing of our John Neece beyond his marriage date and place, Henry and Ann Neece's John would be aproximately the same age and no one seems to know anything about him, and, finally, Jefferson Co is very close to astle Woods, VA, especially since the Holsten River is a natural link between the two places and was used for migration. I do have to leave for work now and cannot spend any more time looking and comparing but do have some info I can share about Henry and Ann's family and give you some e-mail addresses of some descendants of that family I have talked with. Great website. I grew up in Russell Co. (Grassy Creek area) and spent alot of time in Nickelsville. Used to have alot fof functions at the Ruritan Building by the old mill. I remember reading about the unsolved murder there when I was a little boy. I ollect historicaly books from SW VA. and have a copy of Nagy's book. I bought it at the log cabin store beside the old courthouse in Dickensonville, across from the Copper Creek Elem. School on route 58. I also have a copy of the the Histroy of the Midd e New River Settlements and Contiguous Territories written by David E Johnston. It deals mainly with Tazewell County and North but is good reading for someone interested in the area. I am a descendent of the Salyers family of Russell and Scott Co. and there is a good book by Mrs. Elizabeth Salyers regarding the Salyers family and it has some old church notes of the two counties and I'm sure some marriages with Bushes are recorded ther as well. again I enjoyed your site. I worked in the Kentucky SState Health Department and I believe back in the 1950s the registrar for Kentucky vital statistices was a Mr. Bush. A very fine fellow. It seems he may have been from Tennessee - not sure. Anyway, you have a very nice family collection and I enjoyed visiting. ---Maxine

Julie, I've talked to you (through e-mail) several times. My wife is a descendant of Phillip Bush, Sr. through his son, John. Her great great-grandfather, Mercer Bush, Jr. born in MO, moved to Polk Co, OR abt 1878. I would love to talk to other family researchers to gather more info on other lines of "Neptune" John Bush's family. Good luck on this endeavor.
