CJ's Make A Wish Trip
To Disney World and on the Disney Magic Cruise
March 26th - April 2nd, 1999.


On March 25th, 1999 - CJ, his sister Tabi, Mom, Dad & Grandma traveled by Limousine to a hotel next to BWI airport in Baltimore, MD. This was our first trip in a Limo and CJ was totally awestruck by the size of the Limo & all the fancy controls inside. We awoke very early the next morning to catch the airplane to Disney World. This was also CJ's first trip on an airplane & I don't think he took his face away from the airplane window once!

Upon arrival at the airport in Orlando we were met by representatives from Disney World who escorted us to a waiting bus that took us on to our hotel - The Boardwalk Inn - near Epcot Center.

We checked into the hotel - but had to wait several hours until our room was ready - so we headed off to Epcot Center. It was so hard to believe we were finally here!

We walked around Epcot Center & visited all the different countries that were represented. Tabi & her Dad rode "The Test Track" ride - which had only been open for a short while. The line was long so CJ, Grandma & Mom shopped & ate Ice Cream.

After spending most of the afternoon at Epcot Center, we returned back to our hotel to "freshen up" and to get settled into our hotel room. We actually had 2 adjoing rooms - both with verandah's overlooking a beautiful terrace and pool.

We walked along the boardwalk that night & had dinner at a nice Italian Restaurant. Grandma watched the kids that first night & Mom & Dad took a walk over to the Epcot Center & went shopping.

CJ woke up very early the next day - eager to get started on our adventureous day. We spent the first half of the day at MGM Studios. We visited the "Honey I Shrunk The Audience" attraction (it was great), and rode the "Great Movie Ride".

After much convincing Tabi & her dad got on the Tower of Terror while Grandma, Mom & CJ nervously waited outside. We then went to see "Indiana Jones" - CJ just loved all the fantastic stunts and would have stayed there the rest of the day if we could have.

Grandma returned to the hotel to rest & the rest of us went on to the Magic Kingdom.

Upon arriving at the Magic Kingdom - we were greeted by an Easter Parade! It was wonderful & very crowded. We watched the parade for a while & then made our way through the crowd - anxious to see Cinderella's Castle - where we took many pictures.

We rode lots of rides there & CJ and Tabi got autographs from alot of different characters.

The next day we returned to the Magic Kingdom & rode some more rides & met more characters! What a fun day we had - we hated to leave - but we knew that the next day we would be on the Disney Magic Cruise Ship.

We woke up very early Monday Morning & boarded a bus that took us to Port Canaveral. What a huge ship the Disney Magic is & boy is it ever clean. We finally boarded the ship - sometime after noon. After finding our room - we quickly found a place to eat (Topsider's).

There was so much to do & so much to eat on the ship! It was wonderful. The kids loved going to the Oceaneer Lab & Oceaneer Club. Every night we ate different in a different restaurant - our favorite being Animator's Palate.

The kids had a great time swimming in the pools on the ship & getting in the hot tubs. And they loved the fact that they could step out of the pool & walk a few feet to get Pizza & a drink! On Tuesday we arrived at Nassau, Bahamas.



What an old, historic, beautiful city! Lots of poverty here - but the people were so friendly. We took a taxi tour of Nassau and to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. Michael Jordan was at the Resort while we were there & CJ was actively searching for him! We went shopping downtown & visited the straw market. We returned to the ship in time for dinner & after dinner took a long stroll around the ship. The next morning we arrived at Castaway Cay! It was so beautiful & so breathtaking - miles & miles of beach everywhere.

We spent most of the day on the beach & in the water. It was so blue & so clear - you could see all the way to the bottom! The kids enjoyed playing on the boogie boards.

We spent a little time shopping at Castaway Cay, and ate a terrific buffet lunch. The day ended way too fast and we returned to the ship shortly before dinner.

Tabi got very sick during dinner that night - apparently she didn't wear enough sunblock & ended up getting a bad sunburn. Grandma took her to the medical room & got some seasick medicine for her. The next morning - though still weak & very pale (even through the sunburn!) Tabi felt better. That day we spent a whole day at sea! The kids spent alot of time at the pool - there was a big deck party with Goofy, Minnie, Micky & Chip and Dale.

What a wonderful day at sea we had. We did not want the trip to end so we stayed up late and went to a wonderful play.

We wished the vacation would have lasted a year! But we had to get back to school & work. We had the best time of our lives there & made memories that will last the rest of our life.
