Von Funck Family Crest
The following are copies of pages from a German Heraldry Book in a University library in London. I do not know the exact source, as this info was copied many years ago, and handed down. As soon as I can correctly identify the source, it will be listed.

These should help a bit with translation for those of you who don't read German. Most of the rest is either peoples names, or their occupations.

PAGE 1 This is some of what is written in the first section to the left. Hermannus Vunke (1355) first registered, or Hermannus Vunke Goldingen - registered 11,11,1371. Then Borchard Funke 13.7.1407 (possibly son of above). The family appeared to have owned the estate von Ilsen uninterupted until 1742. The Line unbroken begins with Jacob von Funck (dead on Ilsen - 1592). Funck means "Sparks", thus the sparks on the shield. My great grandmother Irene was the Master at Arms in her family. |

PAGE 2 At Johann Ludwig, (this is my first break in the straight line descendancy) skip down to the next page, to see Wilhelm and Friedrich. After that, my line starts again on page 5 (88 in its corner) with the second branch (ast). |

PAGE 3 My family line is from the first line(linie), then second limb(ast) Friedrich Willhelm von Funck (1774), then his son Friedrich Wilhelm Rudolph Baron von Funck(1807) , then his 9th child Alexander Friedrich Wilhelm von Funck (1857), then his first daughter Irene(1886) of his first marriage. She married Peter Preiss in 1917, had George Preiss who married Marianne Wilhelmina Traisbach and had Ingrid Aina Preiss (1950), who married Peter James Ferris (1944) and had Jennifer Eileen Ferris (1972), and James Alexander Ferris(1973)[see here]. I won't type out the whole lineage, but it is in these pages, up to Irene and her marriage to Peter Preiss. Peter Preiss's parents were Jacob Preiss and Anna Jurrusch. |

And at the bottom of this one, Alexander Friedrich Wilhelm von Funck .....child #9 is my great great grandfather, and his wives (married 2 times) and his four children. His first daughter by his first marriage, Irene (next page) is my great grandmother on my mother's father's side. |
