{Trouble}

I Dedicate this page to my

hubby and all the

Truck Drivers

I have been married to this guy for 35

years , we have had our ups and downs, it took me a long time to

get used to the fact that he was a Truck Driver and never at

home when I needed him , and would always be a Truck Driver . I

guess I have got a little bit of experence in just about

everything . I guess you could say ,well let me tell you some of

the things I have had to do. The first 15 years wasn't to

bad ,I had to learn how to work on a car when it wouldn't start

or deal with a teenager son that thought he was grown , our

daughter well she thought I dont have to come home when mom said to ,

after the second time to find her she decided to do it mom's way.

Then my Truckdriver hubby said we are going to buy a little farm at

Lake Whitney ,150 Acres,15 years ago and he said I will be there honey to

help you . HA!HA! That was a joke !I had never pulled a calf ,

but I have now. I have had to fix water leaks were the cows &

horse's rubbed against the tank. I have had to fix fence, run a

tractor, cut hay, hale 500 or 600 bales of hay to the barn , mow

,work on a lawn mower. Keep the house up inside and the out side too .

Being a TruckDriver Wife is really hard , you are mom & dad and

all the rest and everything in between . Don worked for Oliver Rubber

company out of Dallas, Texas and had been with this company for

23 years. He got layed off Aug 14, 2000 , So now he is looking

for a job .He is on longhale 7 to 10 days at a time .A friend

found this little poem about a Truck Driver Wife I hope you enjoy it...

UPDATE ON MY HUBBY .....MY HUBBY GOT HURT ON THE TRUCK {NOV 7, 2002}, HE WAS WORKING FOR HERITAGE IN WACO ,HE HAS HAD TWO BACK OPERATIONS AND THEY HAVENT HELPED ,NOW HE IS IN A WHEELCHAIR , HE IS AT HOME AND I AM TAKING CARE OF HIM {DEC 5 , 2003}. MAY NOT BE ABLE TO WALK EVERY AGAIN , HIS WHOLE LIFE HAS CHANGED AND ITS HARD FOR HIM TO COPE WITH THIS , HE FEELS LIKE HE IS USELESS TO EVERYONE AND TO HIMSELF ,BE CAREFUL OUT THERE TRUCKERS !

When God Made Truck Drivers

When the Lord was creating Truck Drivers, he was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."

And the Lord said, "Have you read the spec on this order?"

" A truck driver has to be able to drive 10-12 hours per day, through any type of weather, on any type of road, know the hiway traffic laws of 48 states and 10 provinces, he has to be ready and able to unload 40,000 lbs of cargo after driving thru the night, sleep in areas of cities and towns that the police refuse to patrol."

" He has to be able to live in his truck 24 hours a day 7 days a week for weeks on end, offer first aid and motorist assistance to his fellow travelers , meet just in time schedules, and still maintain an even and controlled composure when all around him appear to have gone mad."

" He has to be in top physical condition at all times, running on black coffee and half-eaten meals; he has to have six pairs of hands."

The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands... no way."

It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord, "it's the three pairs of eyes a driver has to have."

"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.

The Lord nodded.

" One pair that sees the herd of deer in the thickets 3 miles away" "Another pair here in the side of his head for the blind spots that motorists love to hide in; and another pair of eyes here in front that can look reassuringly at the bleeding victim of a drunk driver that crashed into his ICC bumber at 70MPH and say,

" ' You'll be all right ma'am,' when he knows it isn't so."

" Lord," said the angel, touching his sleeve, "rest and work on this tomorrow."

" I can't," said the Lord, "I already have a model that can drive 650 miles a day, without incident and can raise a family of five without ever seeing them, on 30 cents a mile."

The angel circled the model of the truck driver very slowly, "Can it think?" ,she asked.

"You bet," said the Lord. "It can tell you the elements of every HAZMAT load invented; recite Federal Motor Carrier Regulations rules and regs in its sleep; deliver, pickup, be a father, offer timely advice to strangers, search for missing children, defend a woman's or children's rights, get 8 hours of good rest on the street and raise a family of Law respecting citizens, without ever going home ... and still it keeps its sense of humor. "

"This driver also has phenomenal personal control. He can deal with delivery and pickup areas created from scenes painted in hell, coax a lumper to actually work for his money, comfort an accident victim's family, and then read in the daily paper how truck drivers are nothing more than killers on wheels and have no respect for the rights of others while using the nations hiways."

Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the driver. "There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told you that you were trying to put too much into this model."

"That's not a leak," said the lord, "it's a tear."

"What's the tear for?" asked the angel.

"It's for bottled-up emotions, for fallen comrades, for commitment to that funny piece of cloth called the flag, for justice, for the family without its father."

"You're a genius," said the angel.

The Lord looked somber. "I didn't put it there,"

Amen

The First Trucker's Wife

When God created the First Trucker's Wife He paused for a moment to consider her life. She'd have to be strong, with an independent air, To manage the home when her husband's not there.

She'd have to be brave and not full of fright, To sleep by herself on those cold, stormy nights. She'd raise up her children with a firm hand, While her husband's out driving all over the land.

Her love must be deeper than the road is long, To stay true to her husband, keep the marriage strong. She'd have to be special, more than most wives, For trucker's work hard, and live hard lives.

But if they work together in all that they do, They'll build up a home and a love that's true.

MANY MILES BEWTEEN US...

So many miles between us...

that are keeping us apart,

the only place i can have you...

is deep within my

I think of you each morning...

I dream of you each night,

I'm looking forward to the day...

that we can make this right.

When I hear this certain song...

It's reminding me anew,

of all of these emotions...

I've been saving just for you.

For all I ever want to do...

is to feel your love inside,

as I hold you tenderly...

laying at my side.

Until we are together...

I can only hope you know,

that you are safe and sound here...

deep within my .

Missing you..

" TRUCKERS PRAYER "

Dear God above bless this truck I drive,

and help me keep someone alive.

Be my mortal sight this day,

on streets where little children play.

Bless my helper fast asleep when the night

is long,

and keep my cargo safe and sound

through the hours big and round.

Make my judgement sound as steel,

and be my hands upon the wheel.

Bless the traveler going past,

and teach them not to go so fast.

Give me strength for every trip,

so I may care for what they ship.

And make me mindful every mile,

that life is just a little while.

Amen

"A Trucker's Family Prayer"

Dear Lord:

Please watch over our Trucker, as he may needs extra guidance. He is out on that long, unforgiving road, trying to make a honest living. Please be sure to keep him safe; it can be very dangerous this far away from home.

Life out there can be full of stress and disappointment: We ask that you lift him up when he is down, reminding him that he is not alone, that you are always within him.

Dead lines and Hot loads are a worry too, Dear Lord; Shine your light on him as he travels thru the midnight darkness; keeping his eyes opened untill he is able to rest.

Lord, know that our Trucker did not choose an easy path: He chose to drive a truck for a living, which does not allow us a "normal" family life. Please bless this man; for the sacrifice that he made is....himself. This is not an easy life, but it is the life that we live.

Times at home with out him are hard too, sometimes the worries and loneliness can seem unbearable. Please remind him that he is always in our hearts, no matter how many miles he is from home.

Knowing that you have our "Trucker-Family" under you wings to protect us from harm, allows us to wake up each morning loving you and knowing: You love us; regardless of where we might be.

Amen

" Heaven's Grocery Store "

I was driving down life's Highway a long time ago, One day I saw a sign that read Heaven's Grocery Store As I got a little closer the doors came open wide And when I came to myself,I was standing inside.

I saw a host of angels, they were standing everywhere One handed me a basket and said child shop with care. Everything a Christian needed was in that grocery store And all you couldn't carry you could come back the next day

First I got some Patience and Love, there in the same row Further down was Understanding, you need that everywhere you go, I got a box or two of Wisdom,a bag or two of Faith I just couldn't miss the Holy Ghost, for it was all over the place

I stopped to get some Strength and Courage to help me run this race, By then my basket was getting full, but I remembered I needed some Grace. I didn't forget Salvation, for salvation that was free, So,I tried to get enough of that to save both you and me.

Then I started up to the counter to pay my grocery bill For I thought I had everything to do my Master's Will As I went up the aisle,I saw Prayer and I just had to put that in For I knew when I stepped out side, I would run right into sin.

Peace and Joy were plentiful, they wereon the last shelf Songs and Praises were hanging near so I just helped myself, Then I said to the angel ,now how much do I owe He just smiled and said, just take them everywhere you go.

Again I smiled at him and said, How Much Do I Owe? He smiled again and said, My Child, Jesus Paid Your Bill A Long Time Ago!!!

Something Strange on the Road

I saw something strange

on the road.

So strange,

that it had to be told.

A red truck and trailer,

in the right hand lane.

A beginning truck driver,

on the road to fame.

With his CB and radio,

he thought he was cool.

He's driving into history,

in Truck Driving School.

He has an instructor,

how much do you want to bet?

As his instructor smacks him,

as they drive into the sunset.
