In August 2002 she accepted my collar. We opted on a collar from
chaotic creations. Fine work and craftsmanship. I had it engraved
with Master kens angel. she wore that collar 24/7 ever since this
last week. She expressed a desire to have a more bdsm look and we
chose the dreamstrike collar.
I have had a passion for permanent jewelry and she has accepted
that. Hence the jade bangle on her left wrist. Usually what happens
is at a young age the Asian girl has a jade bangle put on her wrist.
She grows into it and it will not come off. Well, I tried a bangle I
got her and it was very snug. I mean it is 2 inch diameter and she
has a six inch wrist. With some effort and a few ouchies from her it
went on. Like a Cinderella. She has worn that ever since.
This leads us to the old collar. Angel mentioned that we should
use it as an anklet. I cut it down with the engraving on the side
that we wanted but the screw threads were on the wrong side. We
wanted the engraving saved so what I ended up doing is making the
alignment holes bigger and using rivets to secure it.
These bracelets are made from solid gold stock. Mine (his) is an 8X2mm and my wife's is 6X2mm with a platinum pin. The pin is pushed through the backside then hammered down and rounded over, never to come off. My wife's are 22k and 14k pink, with another 22k on the way (she don't know that!). Mine is 14k, seems to put up with me banging it around. Got the idea from a friend at the jewelry store that made them. She is now up to 3 on her left arm and a jade bangle on her right. Just about any good goldsmith could make one of these by showing them the pictures of my wife's pink one.
I have not been able to get the whole story on the origins of these
pinned bands. The jeweler that makes these made JJ's first one about
18 years ago, I have been told that Tony's (jeweler) Mother has some
grown-into bracelet, maybe that's where the idea came from. JJ has a
normal size hand with a 6" wrist; her bracelets are a very close fit.
This year I found her a 50mm inside dia. jade bangle that we forced
over her right hand with lots of baby oil. I don't think its coming
off anytime soon. She has been saying she will get #4 some time soon,
can't wait! Tony does make a solid oval bangle that must people have
sized to just fit over the hand. In the 70's there was a jeweler in
the area that made too size out of silver, most were sold to teenagers
and now are grown-into bracelets. I guess that's why we don't get very
many comments about ours.
Now to the workings, the pin is made from 1mm wire; the end is heated
to make a small ball of the end of the wire. Then it's placed in the
backside of a wire draw bar and hammered flat making it looking like
the head of a pin. When placed in the bracelet it's pushed through
from the backside out, so that the flat is on the inside. Then as you
guessed it Dave the bracelet is placed over the horn of an anvil, 3 or
4 good hits with a hammer mushrooms the pin. It is then cut round with
a cone cutter and finished with a dimpling tool; finished is a nice
rounded top.
