Bonni's Chinchilla Photo Gallery, Part II

(Remember to left-click on the smaller images to view...)

Baby chinchillas are a sight to behold. I suggest the caring of these young friends to only be done by experienced handlers. If you are not too experienced yet, just ask your local chinchilla rancher to see some of his or her babies; I'm sure they will be happy to accomodate you!

Very few people can resist babies, so here are some lovely pictures for you to gaze at. Thanks for visiting my chinchilla photo gallery! Don't forget to email me! And sign the guestbook, too.

Chinchilla babies are very tiny during their first few weeks of life...

The babies vary in size from as small as an adult human thumb to half the size of a man's hand...

Chinchilla mothers are very gentle and protective. When she fears danger, she quickly shoves the babies underneath her body, to hide them. She also puts the babies underneath to give them warmth and comfort as they sleep.
