Something Is Missing
Each spring something is missing
I wait
Wait
Wait
It doesn’t appear
Blue eyes laughing
Mischievous
Ronnie
M pool table without a good cue,
Off to the tavern he went,
And stole a stick without any rue.
Full of nonsense
Comical
Ronnie
Once when his Mama cooked an egg in some fat ,
He aptly replied,
"Mama, even a chicken would be ashamed of that!"
Coming unannounced I never knew when
Unfettered
Ronnie
Like weather he came.
His life a great game.
Wish he were here just like then
Prankish
Ronnie
A gift for his new niece thoughtful and kind.
Alas! The price tag he left his sister to find.
He didn’t care about money,
Thought most things in life were funny.
Sharing
Caring
Ronnie
It’s hard to say goodbye to someone you hold dear
We grew up together my memories are clear
And still each Spring I wait for him to appear
Blue eyes laughing
Mischievous
Ronnie

1944-1972 Ronald Cooper died before he reached the age of twenty-nine but his brief life left many wonderful memories in the hearts of all who crossed his path. Ronnie was a commercial fisherman like his father before him. He was raised by the sea in Ninilchik and made his living from the water.Today he rests in the Graveyard, on the hill, in Ninilchik, forever looking over the river, the village, the sea and the mountains he loved.
