Many immigrants from the Val di Non settled in Rock Springs, Wyoming at the turn of the century. (The Fountain Saloon was owned by Leno Zadra.)
The Rizzi family is believed to originate from the village of Cloz in the Val di Non, Trentino, Italy. Other branches of the family originated in the nearby village of Brez. Our Rizzi family traces directly back to these villages.  Other related names include Avanzini (Avancini), Bertagnolli, Flor, Floretta, Franch, Magagna, Rauzi (Rauz) and Trost.If you have information or pictures regarding any of the following persons, please contact us. 1. Allen Eugene RIZZI
One brother, David George Rizzi (b. 07-07-1952) and one sister, Anne-Marie Rizzi (b. 06-18-1951). Married Rachel Hershkowitz on 01-01-1982. One son, Erik Allen Rizzi (b.12-13-1970) by a previous marraige to Sharon Rock in 1970. Interests include writing, fishing and history. Worked as a consultant to the oil and gas industry after having been trained as an English teacher. Allen Rizzi prepared and edited this family tree presentation in 1999.

Born seven months after his own father died. Trained as a professional violinist in Vienna, Austria. Married Barbara Lee Allen on 07-12-1947. An accomplished actor before pursuing a career in sales and marketing. Retired to Oregon after a long career with Brown and Bigelow and became active in anadromous fish restoration.

One sister, Patricia Allen (b. 09-16-1929). Married Eugene Valentine Rizzi on 07-12-47. Three children: Allen Eugene Rizzi (b. 11-30-1948), Anne-Marrie Rizzi (b. 06-18-1951) and David George Rizzi (b. 07-07-1952). An avid reader who enjoyed music and the arts.

d. 09-11-1912 Merano (Tret), Italy
Came to the United States in 1896 and settled in Rock Springs, Wyoming, where he was associated with the Fountain Saloon. He sent for Armida Flor of Brez, Italy and they were married on October 20, 1897 at Rock Springs, Wyoming. In Wyoming, he worked in the sheep ranching business until a fall through the ice forced him into ill health and a return to Merano, Italy where he died shortly thereafter. Eugenio's grave marker is located at the church of Santa Maria in Cloz, Italy. Eugenio's godfather was his uncle Alfonso Rizzi.
5. Anna Maria FLOR b. 04-13-1877 Brez, Italy

Anna Flor married Eugenio Rizzi in 1897 at Rock Springs, Wyoming. She had four children: Rinaldo (b. 08-29-1901, d. 09-18-1939), Giorgio (b. 12-27-1905, d. 07-1976), Rosalia (b. 01-01-1898, d. 07-01-1913) and Eugenio (b. 04-01-1913). Rosalia died at the age of 15 and is buried at the church of Santa Maria in Cloz, Italy at the side of her father. Anna lived through much personal tragedy and was considered the heart of the family. She is buried in San Fernando, California.

6. Elmer Leroy ALLEN
"Lee" Allen grew up in rural Montana near Anaconda. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He handled horses for the United States Army in World War I. Later, he married Edna Josephine Byron and worked for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power where he was involved with the building of the Mono Tunnel, which brought water to Los Angeles, California.

Edna Josephine Byron married Elmer Leroy Allen and had two children: Barbara Lee Allen (b. 07-05-1924) and Patricia Allen (b. 09-16-1929). Edna worked for the Los Angeles Board of Education and was known as a very fast typist.

9. Francesca (von) TROST
Her marriage record shows her name as Dorotia Francesca Trost. She kept the German titular "von" in her name after marrying Giorgio Rizzi  on 07-05-1874. Her children were Eugenio Stefano Rizzi (b. 09-15-1874, d. 09-11-1912), Lucia Dorotia Rizzi (b. 03-10-1876), Anna Rizzi (b. 09-09-1877), Natpurga Rizzi (b. 11-02-1879, d. 02-25-1882), Margherita Natpurga Rizzi (b. 05-03-1882) and Giovanni Battista Rizzi (b. 09-25-1884, d. 07-07-1967).  Anna married Louis  Magagna in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Their son, Edwin, was the Wyoming state's attorney. The records show a daughter, Maria, who was born 05-25-1891 in Innsbruck, Austria with the father listed as "unknown." She died 10 days later.

Decended from the nobel Avancini family of Brez, Italy. Married Raphael Flor of Brez and had several children including Anna Flor  (b.04-13-1877, d. 11-24-1956), Armida Flor (b. 06-26-1883), Paolo Flor (b. 05-13-1879), Valentino Flor, and Virginia Flor. Virginia married a Mengoni.  Armida married Emmanuel Bertagnolli on 08-21-1901 and moved to Tret, where they owned an albergo. The Avancini house in Brez is a noted historical landmark.
