She has
the details and names below, and she would be most grateful if anyone
reading
this knows her genealogy line or, really, can help in any way...
Thank
you for taking a minute to read the following...
Hello...
My name
is Robin Slater and I am the great-niece of John C. Winters. I do
not
have much information at all on my uncle (I called him Uncle John,
even
though he was my great uncle) as to his past or his family genealogy.
He lived
in Cambridge, Maryland and was married to my great-aunt, Sidney
Louise
Todd. Uncle John was born February 11, 1911 (where I am not sure).
He passed
away August 18, 1999. I was in the military at the time of his
passing
and was not able to come home for the funeral (and the military
didn't
consider him to be close enough to be warranted of "immediate
family"
in order for me to be dismissed and able to come home for his
funeral).
In either case, upon the end of his being ill, and just before
his
death, our family found out for the first time that Uncle John had
been
previously married and had 2 children from that marriage. I do not
know
what his prior wife's name was. I do know they had one daughter
(name
unknown, but think it may be Anne or something similar), and one son
(Theodore
"Ted" Winters). I do not know what Ted does...but I know he and
his
sister are currently living. If I am not mistaken my mother seems
to
remember
that the daughter is disabled and currently lives somewhere in
Salisbury,
Maryland. We are not sure where the son lives, but think it
may
be northern Maryland or in Pennsylvania.
I am
trying to do research on this family line, and also trying to track
down
"Ted" Winters. When my Uncle passed away he asked that all his
belongings
be auctioned off. Ted was the one who took care of the
arrangements,
and I would like to see if he has any family information or
photos...and/or
if he was able to salvage any from my Uncles estate. Also
to find
out the auction company he used (they are required by law to keep
a detailed
list that is public information as to what was auctioned off
and
to whom it was auctioned).
Any help
in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Even if you do not
know
Ted, or even know of him...I would still like any genealogy info you
may
have on this line of Winters.
Sincerely,
Robin
