I left my computer on one night, and in the morning I found
that I had a whole batch of new bookmarks on my browser.
Hmmmmmm...I thought my daughters were playing a trick on me
but both firmly denied having set the new bookmarks.
However in checking the bookmarks, I found them to be some of
the most delightful, inventive and sensitive home pages about cats.
Occasionally, there were some on other animals,
especially birds, but never D-O-G-S!!!! So I set up the video
camera and left it on all night. In the morning, when I reviewed
the tape, I discovered my Manx female, Abby, was the culprit.
It would seem that all those hours sitting on my lap while I
was surfing the Internet had showed her a new past-time.
Well, we came to an understanding that she and I would surf the
sites together and she would let me know the best sites in her
opinion. She wanted to honor these animal sites with her very
own ABBY Award. I said I would throw in a dozen roses for the
site owner. So if you think you have a "pet-friendly" site,
or know someone who does, fill out the form.
I thought we could get along without a list of rules to be
followed, but in view of a few recent submissions, we find
we need to remind our applicants:
1.) Your site must be family-rated... if it isn't suitable for
your 7-year-old sister, I surely don't want Abby viewing it!
That includes obscenity, violence, sex and cruelty to people
and animals!!! Abby and I will be the final judges.
2.) Your site must be about real cats... not cybercats, not
imaginary cats, and not links to someone else's cat site.
You may submit only part of your site, if cats are not your focus.
3.) Your site must be in English, or have an English translation
available and clearly marked on your first page. The pictures
were lovely but my German, Russian and Japanese (to name a few
languages) are not good enough! Sorry!
